Do you like your iphone?
Usually people jump ship from Apple to Android as iphone no doubt are very expensive but I must admit the screen sizes on android phone are going up and up and actually the 4" screen of an iphone 5 looks very appealing. I was looking at new nexus 5 and although a great price and am sure is a fantastic device 5" screen in my pocket sounds like it would be really bulky!

I thought this at first before I got my 4.8" galaxy s3 but once you get used to it you wont wanna go to a smaller screen again!:P

Re: Do you like your iphone?
Have to agree with GoodZE. My phones have only been getting bigger. I8000 Omnia II (3.7 inches) > I9000 Galaxy S (4 inches) > N7000 Note (5.3 inches) > Xperia Z Ultra (6.4 inches). You get used to the size quickly. Going back however, you think; "My last phone was tiny". Quite a realization when I held my Galaxy Note and thought "this is kinda small now".
I've said before, larger screen make almost everything about the experience better. It makes watching videos, viewing/editing documents, playing games, browsing the web and so on just that little bit more pleasant. Go to a store and try some phones out and pick the biggest you are happy with.
If you are dead set on a smaller phone, the beauty of Android is that there are dozens if not hundreds or thousands to choose from. :)
-
Re: Do you like your iphone?
Different phones for different requirements. I like my 5S and the slight size increase from my 4S. If I need something bigger, I pull out my iPad. I don't like a huge thing in my pocket. We seem to be going full circle with phones. First they were huge bricks then they shrank, now they are going big again.
If you are not tied to a particular ecosystem then by all means give Android a go. I would recommend the Nexus 5 as Googles reference phones get the Android updates before the branded ones. The likes of Samsung and HTC are lovely phones too. Just too much bloatware on them which can't be uninstalled easily. If you like tinkering though, go for it.
-
Re: Do you like your iphone?
I'm more than happy with my 5s. If I want a larger screen, I have an iPad or a 24" iMac to use! I think the bigger phones do have their place but I have best of both worlds by having multiple devices.
-
Re: Do you like your iphone?
Love my iPhone 5 and it's always a great relief coming back to it after using something else for a while. The phone that's come the very closest to the iPhone so for in my experience is the Nexus 5. However, there's still a bit of functionality missing from Android that I really need (taking voice commands from the lock screen for instance). Android is nearly there, just not quite yet.
-
Re: Do you like your iphone?
No,since I don't own one?? :p

Re: Do you like your iphone?
Well I have just jumped ship to a Nexus 5 from an iPhone 4 on my personal phone, but still have an iPhone 5 for work...and in short, no I don't like my iPhone.
They had it spot on with the 4/4S. High quality, great looks, such a "solid" well built feel..really great phone. Then it started going downhill. I don't get on with my iPhone 5. It's far too light, doesn't have the same "quality" feel, scratches by touching it, has a really odd resolution/profile...it's just nothing special. The 5S is identical in every way that matters, and the 5C well, that's got to be the worst mainstream product Apple has put out there in the past 12 years.
With the nexus 5 I am enjoying it because it's different - but it's not much better. Wireless charging is exciting for all of 5 minutes but other than that, it's just a phone with some different software that solves one or two issues iOS had but introduces a load of it's own problems. Just as with iOS, I don't accept the whole "oh but you can uninstall this and the install this hack, loose those features but gain the one you want" argument).
I have come to the conclusion that currently we don't have a "perfect" phone - for me it would be a device that offers a pure hybrid of Android and iOS OS and devices :D
Glass front/back mixed with uni-body style metal, around a 4.5" 1080p screen, minimum 24 hour battery (ideally more but hey lets be realistic), decent camera, 16gb memory, suitable specs (since they are actually irrelevant, in a phone I just want a CPU and enough RAM to run apps quickly), QI Charging, fingerprint scanner..thats all you'd need.
Then software wise I would want an OS that does everything I really need out of the box with no hacking needed - deep integration with Cloud (Apple does this, Google does not), customisable widget based homescreen (Google does this, Apple does not), full reaching notifications out of the box (Apple does this, Google fails by not allowing notification counters!), VPN support, and multiple App stores that include high quality vetting of apps (Neither does this adequately).
Then you have a phone I really want.
As it is, I think the Nexus 5 is probably the best value device out there until Manufactures can innovate a little and give us something new/different/worth spending £500+ on. As it stands, I think now is the perfect time for long term Apple users (like me) to dip their toe in the water with Android since you can get a top spec phone for £295 brand new (the nexus 4 at £200 is still a compelling purchase!) - at half the cost of an iPhone it's not too much of a risk to take, especially as I have just sold my iPhone 4 (not a 4S!) for £100.
-
Re: Do you like your iphone?
I've got iphone 5, I was looking at android before but screens looked too big for me and had always crossed out the earlier iPhones as the screen was so small!
Got to admit, I love my iphone, things just work and the screen is just big enough without being too big in my pocket!
Only downsides are price, and the fact it's run and made by apple... So constrictive on the programmes and apps you can use and iphone with.
Still, benefits outweigh the downsides for me :)
-
Re: Do you like your iphone?
Before i went for the Nexus 5, i had a iphone 4 and the only reason i had it for was status rather than functions. That was my biggest regret after moving to android there was so many more options which ios couldn't provide, and i doubt il ever go back to the iphone.
-
Re: Do you like your iphone?
I think it is what you are used too.
If you are used to apple interface then many people seem to have the iphones. I found them way to expensive so went with HTC for the android OS but I am a windows PC user. I hated windows mobile OS.
-
Re: Do you like your iphone?
yes i like my iphone...mine is iphone4 and looking forward for iphone6
-
Re: Do you like your iphone?
iPhone 5 (works phone) and absolutely hate it.
Just trying to click the play button on a voice message is infuriating. The screen is way too small and the interface is to limiting.
-
Re: Do you like your iphone?
Still using an iPhone 4 here and, to be honest, I'm getting a bit pigged off with it. I've always liked iPhones, but I'd prefer a bigger screen than what is on offer. Previously, I disliked Android phones because the OS was just too clumsy for my liking. However, I think the more recent 4.xx OS releases offer a marked improvement, and are now appealing to me.
-
Re: Do you like your iphone?
iphone 5 is the best screen size compared to other phones. It has great user experience.
-
Re: Do you like your iphone?
I don't have an iphone to like or dislike, but I don't see any reason, or chance, of me EVER spending that on a phone, iphone or not.
If others want one, and are prepared to pay it, fine, it's your money. Nothing wrong with that. I won't, though, at that price or anything like it.

Re: Do you like your iphone?
I finally jumped ship to Android, last month - I picked up a Moto G, which is a very capable phone for not a lot of money. No more iphones for me.

Re: Do you like your iphone?
I went from a HTC Desire HD to an iPhone 3GS, back to the HTC, then an S2, then Xperia Z and now an Xperia Z1. I'm quite tired of having a big screen. All my trousers are becoming ruined where the corner of the phone digs into the material when sitting down, or even walking. However, that's not the worst. When I'm just trying to use my phone, having a big screen is quite annoying, other times I love it. In an ideal world, I'd have an iPhone 5s and a Nexus 7, as I do still love android..
-
Re: Do you like your iphone?
Just switch from Android to iOS, not used to it
-
Re: Do you like your iphone?
Honestly yes, im a tinkerer but android for a while has been far from polished(it has gone in a good direction and is in a good place now) i want my phone to just work, and most developers priorities features and releases on iOS first because of the share of paying users. and all of these things have kept me on the platform.
-
Re: Do you like your iphone?
I'd have to agree that they're overpriced. But I still feel as though they're the most refined phones out there - considering they create both hardware and software. I have the 6S Plus and I see no real use for force touch at all, maybe in a year or so developers will do something interesting with it.
-
Re: Do you like your iphone?
I currently have the iphone 6+, i tend to bounce to android every so often when i get cheesed off with apple (the whole heres a free u2 album that were putting on your phone wether you like it or not scenario) but always get pulled back some of the android features a much better that iphone but ive settled it by getting android tablet and sticking with apple phones yes they are very over priced and tad behind when it comes to its features compared to android
-
Re: Do you like your iphone?
After breaking my Nexus 5, I've had to use an old iPhone 4 and... I am not a fan I find it all quite restrictive in a way. After this experience I just couldn't bring myself to pay that much for a new iPhone .

Re: Do you like your iphone?
I have a phone 5, and I am still trying to get use to it, sometimes the phone does what it wants, rather than what I want to do pain sometimes. My poor dad who is 85 wanted one like mine, he likes the screen size, and the fact he could read stuff not a problem. Until he goes away, which is oftern, and you get our phone ringing at 8pm ish, it rings, we speak dad is fiddling with the phone he can't hear me, then he tried to phone a taxi, number in the phone, £19 credit, he gives up of getting the taxi number and gets the bus, when he got home he had £11 on his phone, and he hadn't really spoken to anyone, we have had to get him a new plain phone like he had in the first place. So I suppose some elderly don't get on with Iphones and some do. So we are of to Halifax to see dad and take him a phone that he knows he can use. bless his cotton socks. He couldn't manage the computer at first, and now he is very good on the computer and can print all sorts, but the Iphone was to much for my dad.

Better not get him an Android based phone then :)

Re: Do you like your iphone?
I still have the iPhone 4s running IOS 6 as my main phone. I wont be upgrading until Apple release a new smaller 4 inch iPhone with the same design philosophy as the 6.
-
Re: Do you like your iphone?
I have iPhone 6 now and love it, although android seems tempting with all the options. For now I stick to my iPhone. iPhone has less to offer in the features/options area but I can't say that I have missed something with the iOS.
-
Re: Do you like your iphone?
Still rocking my iPhone 5S. Interested in the iPhone SE next Monday, but will probably hold out for the iPhone 7 later in the year, but I do like the 5S size. Even the 6/6S just feels that bit too big.
-
Re: Do you like your iphone?
I've just been given a 6S (at least I think that's what it is).
It's a nice piece of hardware, absolutely. Perhaps a bit small for me, but if it ran Android I would definitely consider it a rival for the Nexus etc.
However, as of yet, I still hate the OS. Maybe time will tell, but the lack of a proper back button, awkward multi-tasking and bizarre file management is frustrating me right now.

I like iPhone Mobiles it has the simple shape and fast mobile never hanging problem and also never give problem about virus it's very secure mobile.I love iPhone.

Re: Do you like your iphone?
I was an avid Android user, (S7) but just switched to iOS 10, iPhone 7 Plus. Fancied a change and absolutely love how both hardware and software work seamlessly together. Everything just seems to work, smoothly! Can't say over time I won't consider switching back to Android, but if google get to the same experience as iOS? Then I might switch back!
-
Re: Do you like your iphone?
I use iPhone 6, and feel good

Re: Do you like your iphone?
I started of with iPhones then moved to Android a couple of years ago with the LG G3 due to the price of iPhones. I did enjoy my LG G3 and the android experience, but I couldn't wait to get back to ios. Android is ok, but everything works so seamlessly in IOS.
Apple devices seem to age slower too (I can easily use an iPhone for 4 - 5 years but my android devices need upgrading after 2 - 3). If you have an iPad or Mac, everything syncs beautifully between them. My history is the same across all three devices. I can pick up phone calls or reply to text messages on any of the devices. I can start doing one thing on one device and finish it on another.
I find Android and IOS are both good systems and sometimes it just comes down to personal preference, but I personally love my iPhone 6 Plus and would never go back to Android.

Re: Do you like your iphone?
I've had a 5c for a few years now; liked it for the first couple, have hated it for the last couple roughly. It's slow, not in comparison to more modern phones, but in comparison to how it was when I got it - that's after a complete factory reset, making sure I have enough spare memory, and all the other stuff - it just can't handle the modern OS. Stuff is buggy. How much it's Apple wanting to force upgrades on their customers, and how much the app-makers insist on upgrades that are optimized for newer phones, I don't know, but the situation is getting untenable for me. My choices are to keep this phone and use the apps less - co-incidentally I've decided recently to delete social media and check e-mails less, so I'm naturally becoming less reliant on it, and I'm also lazy af, so that seems most likely; get the smallest samsung or sony I can find, assuming it's around the same size as my 5c; or, lastly, I might consider getting a dumbphone.

That's interesting. I used my iPhone 3GS for about 5 years with no problems. In fact I still use I as an iPod. I do think the 5C was a bit cheaply made and underspeced though. One things for sure, Apple are such a greedy company so I wouldn't put it past them to be trying to get you to upgrade.

I have tried/owned all the iphones and ive got to say the 5s is the best value for money iphone out of them all, although the camera could be alot better

I like my iPhone 6 and I think the size of iPhone 7 Plus is better, but larger than 7 Plus will not be my choice.

Re: Do you like your iphone?
I have an iPhone 6 for work, and a s7 edge for personnel.
I can't get on with the iPhone. It just isn't as intuitive as android, no a swipe down for quick access features, no one click back button/multi window. Restrictive custom/tweak ability... Etc etc

Swipe up for customisable features, down for notifications etc. Double press to see all open apps and then select the one you want.
But a lot is what you are used to. I found switching from Android to Apple a bit odd (although I had been using an iPad which is very similar) but I now found going back to Android very strange. It’s not that it’s better or worse, just different. There are a couple of features I liked on Android but don’t have on IOS, and vice versa. What is more important is the ecosystem, and for me, the Apple ecosystem gives me the best of all worlds, but of course YMMV.

Re: Do you like your iphone?
I had iphone 2/3/4 then moved to android with the samsung note series 2 & 4
I've been back with iphone 6S for a while, but may be moving to android again soon
I never really got out of using the note4 big screen for browsing, and it stays in my laptop bag
still due to many 2FA being on google authenticator on it...
Really, on a basic level any device with the essentials lastpass, evernote and dropbox will work for me.

Re: Do you like your iphone?
Hate it. Only have it as I got it for free. I brought the 3GS and it was fine then got this 5S for free. Going to android as soon as I see something that interests me and has a headphone jack.

Re: Do you like your iphone?
Yes and no. It is really baffling my mind. iPhone has very little flaws compared to any other smartphones. Apart from the quality, it is the class itself, Epic camera, and unrivaled features there is so much to offer. Iphone is not perfect but it's a top notch device anyone would like to go for. Other than iphones I do like the motorola phones, I'm yearning to hands on the latest moto z3 play, which is yet to launched but I'm a kind of a guy who will try to book it in a pre order. Anyway, Everyone has a different opinions on the gadgets they use or have tried, For me iphone phones are decent in terms of the quality and service.

Yes I like it a lot, my iPhone! But I admit it, there are negative points. I want to talk about the non-expandable storage space on an iPhone, for lack of built-in memory card reader.

Update - have had a google pixel for a little over a year, and currently hate it, though a little less than I used to hate the 5c, in part I think because it's not as bad, which is brought into focus by the fact I'm using my old 5c as my work phone and it's kinda gobsmacking how bad it is even with no apps installed at all.

Exactly so - it’s primarily a communication device, nothing more, nothing less and if an appledroid of whatever type, colour, screen topology or whatever fits your needs, then one doesn’t need to justify that to anyone! :)

Re: Do you like your iphone?
I once had an iPhone, suited it in terms of functionality, but not in terms of autonomy. The battery is discharged instantly, and if you turn off the necessary functions, it doesn't work out much more functional than cheap Chinese smartphones. In short, the iPhone is 50/50.

Left all my Apple products behind. Apple is great if you don't like change and prefer a company to steer you in their preferred direction with their closed ecosystem. There is certainly benefits to this approach but anyone with some tech ability would prefer Android.

Re: Do you like your iphone?
Been an android user for years (particularly Samsung) but moved back to iPhone with the 11 pro since my last iPhone 4 I got on release... Over 10 years ago! :O
Absolutely loving it so far, and found the screen to be a little more "alive" than the Samsung offerings this time around which I found almost looked a bit 'paper like'
