    Converting phone book.

Hello again, I have got my phonebook off my T610, it is in VCF format. However, when I send it to my 6230 it only receives the first name and number in the list. I tried using the send contacts option in the Nokia Suite but that requires a different format. So anyone any ideas how to send this properly or how convert the VCF phonebook?

    Thanks.

Do you still have your T610? If so, the easiest way would probably be to sync it with Outlook Express, as this will grab all of the details off the phone, and then sync your new 6230 with Outlook Express to upload all the contacts.

Another option is Floats Mobile Agent, I believe it supports nokia for at least the phone book. You could load it up with your T610, export your contacts, load up your 6230 and import them in.

Thank you for your help. That FMA program looks pretty good, shame it does not work with Nokia phones. I could not get it to recognise my 6230 at all.

In the end I used a program (probably FMA) to download my T610 phone book with each name as a separate VCF file. Then went through the arduous task of sending and receiving each one to my 6230. It was only later did I notice Bluetooth mobile functions in XPs Windows Explorer could have saved me a lot of time. I am not sure if these are native to XP or installed with another program though.

Couldn,t you just have saved them all to the sim card and then put that in the 6230 and copied the phonebook straight over?

Yeah I did copy them all to the SIM card. However when you have more than one phone number under a name, e.g. mobile and home, they become separate entries on the SIM card. This was a bit annoying but at least useable until I got round my problem.
