Nexus 7 2012 help
Hi,
So rather than buy the new Nexus 7 I've decided to save some cash and buy last years one on Gumtree. Found a 32Gb one in great condition for £100 so I'm picking it up tomorrow.
My question is regarding connecting it to my TV. I understand it won't mirror but if I connect it via the USB will my TV recognise it as a drive and allow me to play music and movies from it? Also will I be able to use a music app in this way and be able to use the tablet to control the music thru USB? (I know I can just get an audio cable and plug into the headphone jack so its not a major issue if I can't - just wondering if people who have one could enlighten me).
Thanks

It depends on what TV you have?
Many of the new smart tvs support a usb storage device, however I'm unsure about whether that will work with phones/tablets with integrated storage as they use a different protocol for handling usb connections.

Re: Nexus 7 2012 help
If you have a PS3 or XBOX, you could use something like twonkybeam. It's an app on the Nexus that you can use to 'Beam' content to your telly. I've tried it with my PS3, and it sees it as media storage, and works quite well. I think the XBox version is a bit more integrated, so you can 'send from the app.

You might want to look at Skifta too.
