Problem with my phone - what to do?
I have an HTC 8X which I've owned for about 7-8 months which is still in warranty - purchased from Amazon. The call quality for others when I talk is awful, it's very muffled and cuts out all the time - every call. But when I record something or talk on skype via wifi it's completely fine - so it's unclear what's causing the issue.
Is there an obvious solution to this?
If I RMA it what is the chance that I'll get a replacement/repair rather than being told that nothing is wrong?
Cheers,
Nick

Borrow a sim from a friend and try a different network so you can rule that out.
Re: Problem with my phone - what to do?
Sounds like an antenna fault to me. What sort of signal strength do you get compared to what another phone would see on that network?
Re: Problem with my phone - what to do?
Not entirely sure - signal strength seems decent but it's an entirely 1 way problem - I can hear people perfectly. If I send it back to HTC I feel it'll be very difficult to prove and I could see them saying that nothing is wrong which would be infuriating - what can i do?

Or, like they did with my wife's One-X, they might send back a replacement handset that works. The replacement was unlocked too, as a handy bonus when the contract is up in a few months :D
Now old is it, can you get a replacement through Amazon?

It's 6-7 months old, it's still in warranty with HTC, does it go through amazon at all?
