    128GB microSCXC

    FINALLY!!!

    http://www.pocket-lint.com/news/1274...hs-ii-just-yet

Once I get my new handset (looking like a Sony P1 Ultra as it stands) I'll not have any reason to keep hold of my iPod classic. The only reason I had for the classic was so I could carry my whole music library with me. Kind of pointless really, I know that, but I have always liked the fact that I can.

In reality I probably won't ever do it, but I will be getting one of these for whatever 2-in-1 tablet/laptop I end up getting.

I hear that, my brother can't understand my refusal to buy a phone that doesn't have a sd card slot but I like having as much music on my phone as possible for whatever mood I'm in.

    It won't be cheap tho!

Will be interesting to see how the price compares to cloud storage/contract now and in the not so distance future when they are more affordable. Reception is obviously a problem with cloud as are the extra microwaves.

Reception I'll give you, but extra microwaves? Really?

The engadget article lists it at $150, which isn't really that bad, although there no saving over buying 2 64gb ones.

    Re: 128GB microSCXC

I was going to post something about how there is usually a sweet spot in capacity vs. cost, and the best value is somewhere in the middle of current capacities. That's how it used to be anyway. I remember when 4x 4GB cards were cheaper than 1x 8GB card, but 2x 2GB cards were more expensive than a single 4GB.

But I've just had a look on Amazon, and it appears that 64GB is pretty much the best value. I'm surprised. I was expecting the 32GB cards to still be the best value.

It's pretty phenominal that they can achieve such amazing data density.

    Re: 128GB microSCXC

12 months after first launch, price might be half the launch price?
If we put them in a USB3 case, then they could make a cheap, portable, fast RAID0 drive for a PC?

Even if you did some superwide RAID5/6 type setup? Okay, I know you'd have to pair up at least 10 to even start to get to the level of the worst SSD out there. I'm talking strictly theoretical rather than practical.
