    Re: OnePlus One

Its just wrong on the android standard , I had nexus phones for the majority of my smartphone time ha.

I would recommend the Nillkin http://www.amazon.co.uk/Nillkin-Hard.../dp/B00L3EO82I screen protector, I had heard people mention about tempered glass protectors before and it sounded stupid but I thought id try one on the OPO as the screen is raised and I will never go back to standard plastic screen protectors, it applies SO EASILY! No bubbles no nothing simply clean the screen then place on end at the top of the screen and pull the tab down as you slowly go down, I had 1 bubble at the end and just pushed it out and now I cannot tell its there other than the cutout around the speaker and it feels exactly the same as the screen underneath so I am very happy .

    Re: OnePlus One

Late to the party on this phone, waiting for nexus but ultimately disapointed. Looks like they are opening invites to everyone for a one hour period, 3pm GMT on Monday 27th October. You can also pre-register your options, and then just hit buy on Monday - I imagine they know the website will be slow. Could be worth a shot while waiting for invites, just deciding now if I can find the cash to repalce my N4, will miss my wireless charging though.

Who's buying the OnePlus One today?

Well, orders are open to public between 15:00 and 16:00 for the first time. My question is, who's buying it?

I got my phone back from Sony (3rd time I've sent in a phone to them since I got the Z) and they've not fixed it (again) so I'm going to ask for a refund as I'm entitled to it. I don't think though that they'll be overly happy with my decision, but I am now legally able to get one as they've had a reasonable length of time to fix it and haven't. In fact, it's come back in worse condition (camera is full of dust and scratched rear glass). I think the one plus would be the phone I'd get; it's very well priced and offers great performance. At the same time, if I could afford one, I'd probably get the Note 4 over the OPO.

    How about you guys?

The OPO has excellent specks and a awesome camera. Even better it runs CyanogenMod.

Because I like to take photos I would go with the OPO

Like many others, I already have one - I get the feeling that invites aren't too hard to come by now. Nonetheless, I'm sure there will be huge demand when the window opens.

I can't even get on the site - I'm quite surprised - I'd have thought most people will have got it by now.

Honestly, if the Camera is a major factor in your decision, I really wouldn't recommend the OPO. It's okay for the odd outdoor snap, but fairly useless indoors/low light.

I've found using the Google play camera rather than the CM one helps, but it's still not great.

Noticed the 1+ site is getting absolutely battered at the moment, they've had to switch the forum off.

Also noticed that pre-orders go from 3pm-6pm - did they change it, thought it was just an hour..?

If camera is your concern then Nexus 6 would be your best bet(same as the Note4 but without the Samsung markup)

Re: Who's buying the OnePlus One today?

Well I tried to buy it but paypal didn't want to take my money, 4 different cards. I am sure it was something to do with the way it was transferred from opo to paypal as it asked for an auth code every time. So didn't get one, and deciding now if I want to give my money to somewhere where it is so difficult to pay. Website down, limiting demand etc I understand but if you want my money you should take it. I guess they had plenty of demand not to care.

Any invites up for grab, if they still have any?

Oppo Find 7 or Find 7a is a better phone for not much more money.

I wouldn't call the 7a "better". Smaller battery, slightly slower CPU, "ColorOS" (android 4.3), 2GB RAM and as far as I can tell only available in 16GB. It does have an SD slot and removable battery though, which are better than the 1+. But you'd have to factor in at least a 32Gb SD card into an already more expensive phone.

The Find 7 has a higher res screen (which apart from bragging rights has no real benefit at this size - in my opinion). everything else is pretty well matched to the 1+, apart from the price.

What's the warranty/returns like from Oppo? The 1+ warranty is actually good for a Chinese phone. Not sure what the future support for ColorOS is like either, but having Cyanogen on board for the 1+ means the OS is well optimised and very well supported. Android L is guaranteed.

This is a fairly good (but not totally complete) comparison:
    http://www.phonearena.com/phones/com...8603,8351?ft=2

I think the Finds actually look a bit better than the 1+ most days, but there's not much in it and I have a flip case on my 1+ so appearance doesn't mean much. There's definitely fewer accessories for the Finds than the 1+.

Personally I think the extra price of the Finds isn't worth it.

Given onePlus is 229 with invite, 270 from retail.

Are we saying that this handset at 270 isn't worth it?
