I haven't tried either, though perhaps I ought to. But it'd be sheer curiousity. I don't see me lashing out that kind-of money on headphones ever again. I mean, when I bought my Stax's, many years ago, they were expensive, but not silly expensive.
Added to that, the years have taken a toll on my hearing, as they inevitably do with all of us.
And added to that, my life circumstances have changed and I don't listen to music (I mean seriously, really listen) very often. Sure, I'll "listen" in the sense of background music while I'm working, or doing DIY, or cooking, or whatever, but not often sit back, darkened room, comfy chair and dedicate myself to 100% listening.
And when I do do that, these days, it's MUCH more likely to be via speakers, not headphones.
All that considered, these days I can justify good headphones, even very good, but ultra-premium priced? Nah. Not short of winning a lottery triple-rollover and actively seeking something to spend my disgustingly excessive piles of new-found wealth on, anyway. ;)
Sennheiser Game Zero and Astro A50 Wireless Headset!
I use Sennheiser HD201's; not the most comfortable of headphones, but for the price, pretty good sound quality. I've had them a few years now.
skullcandy slayers for my pc gaming.... make by astro if i remember rightly
Modded Sennheiser PC350's for the PC
Bose QC15 & QC20 for everything else.
I know post 16 I stated what I used but got say absolutely love them!
Even if I'm using GFX audio via DP to run the headphone socket on monitor (still), I'm just amazed at times the clarity of sound I get. Now having owned them for few months I think they're so comfortable would not consider anything else, especially for the price they are.
astro a50s for me, I use it as mainly a headset for gaming and occasionally for watching the odd movie
dre beats wireless, yes i know they suck for the price but i got them as a gift lol
on the plus side they dont sound TOO bad...like £60 headphones quality wise...
(they were 199 when i got them lol)
JVC Xtreme Xplosives - cracking for the price with some thumping in ear bass.
I'm using Turtle Beach Z6A. Used for gaming, Skype etc. They work pretty well.
I use what ever is cheapest by the checkout as I seem to break so many pairs of headphones that I just can't afford to get nice ones anymore :(
I\'ve got a set SoundMAGIC HP200 headphones. These are great, a nice little hidden gem.
For gaming on the PC/PS4/Xbox One I\'ll mostly use the Sony PlayStation Wireless Stereo Headset 2.0 - this is great, it just works with everything!
Bose QC15s for me; the noise cancelling is amazing. I also have a cheap pair of bluetooth headphones for running.
