NVIDIA Shield Availability

Does anybody know what is going on with stock levels of NVIDIA Shields in the UK? They seem to be pretty scarce at the moment and wondered if there was an underlying reason for this.

Is there a newer version on the horizon?

Which version do you mean, the hand-held console Shield? If so, I think they pretty much replaced it with the tablet and separate controller.

I mean the tablet. Scan don't seem to have any and Dabs is on order. There are some available on Amazon but I don't want to fork out £300 for a tablet if it is possibly about to be replaced with a newer version. There was a lot of rumours about a Shield Tablet 2 a while back but those rumours seemed to have died down after the Shield Android TV was announced.

Maybe the tablet got 'replaced' by the TV box? Doesn't make sense to me either, but looking at stock levels and considering the hand-held console was replaced by a tablet it wouldn't surprise me.
