    Hi Muse Luva,
I don't have a Samsung, but I tried searching the net for information. I think your ability to send photos is based on what make the other phone is. Somebody said he could only receive a virtual business card from a Nokia. You also need to use Samsung's software on the pc to read from infrared. There seems to be a lot of conflicting advice, I would try posting on mobile-review's forum specifically for phone to phone transfer.

i've owned a few samsungs, and with all of them the infa red feature could only be used with the phone as a data modem - ie to go online with a pda/laptop. afaik it can't be used for picture transfer etc

Same as what Spud said. Most sharps aswell (g/f has a gx10) don't allow file or picture transfer, only data.

You can use the Samsung PC phone suite to transfer photos to a PC from your phone. Google will find the software and a guide in seconds (X600 is same as E700 in this respect, so googling E700 may find more hits). You can't do infra-red phone-phone though.

You can send photos from a PC to the phone and vice versan, just not direct phone-phone! I've done it with numerous E700/X600. Use the PC phone suite.
