    Re: One Plus X

    And mine's here!

Nice box. Super shiny phone. Everyone in the office wants one now. Guess that sums up this phone so far - who cares about the internals, just make it look shiny right?

    Re: One Plus X

Yeah can't fault them on the packaging and accessories, they do a lovely job. Requires a nano Sim so hopefully you bought on before hand, meant to mention that, only got mine working over cellular this morning.

Battery life is middling but if you're a light user like me, with the current update Oxygen OS 2.1.2 it's giving me 3 or 4 days between charging (very light use, except for some app installs). Not bad I don't think - will probably last 2 full days between charging for my normal usage.

    Re: One Plus X

I ordered a multi-sim so hopefully can just pop out the right size. The full size job in my 10yr old Nokia was never going to fit

Just playing on wifi at the moment. Completely flummoxed by most things at the moment, but getting there slowly. Any good android for novices websites/forums?

    Re: One Plus X

    Mini review! - As I didn't promise.

    Screen
Very good. High quality, looks lovely. Good colours and dark blacks. Had a 720p display before - thought that was enough, but 1080p surprisingly does make a difference.
    Battery
Fairly average. Wouldn't last 2 full days, so it's the usual charge every night deal.
    Signal
Cell - Better than average. I can get a slight signal in an underground station, which I couldn't get with my last phone.
Wifi - No 5ghz, suprisingly. However, recently I learned in more detail about the 5ghz bands, which are actually mostly restricted in some way, so I'm not too bothered about it.
    Speed
Very good. Very responsive. Smooth animations, maps and web page scrolling.
    Camera
I don't use the camera much, and other people have done a good job at comparing it with other phones. From what I can tell, it's grainy at low light.
    Feel
Feels solid. The metal edge is nice. The black is super flat, so it slides around on a desk. Which is cool I guess.
    Other
Comes with a clear flexible case, which is nice and didn't expect. The USB cable is cool. The option of dual sim or microsd is cool. The software isn't bloated, the only customisations from stock are useful.

    Overall, very happy with it.

It would certainly make a good air hockey puck (I've put the included silicon case on mine now )

    Re: One Plus X

    Quick pic from this morning:

It's very bad at the pixel level - there's some horrific sensor banding in the yellow regions.. but when zoomed out enough it's OK. More like a 3MP image than a 13MP one in terms of detail however.

That was at ISO-122, so about as high quality as you can get from the phone.

Mine's arrived but it's staying in its box as it's become a birthday present for the Mrs...

Quick question to those who have ripped in to theirs - does it have NFC? I'd presumed it would have but have read the OP2 had the NFC gubbins removed to save on cost.

No NFC. No USB-C. No IR blaster. No 802.11ac (only n or lower).

The One Plus X is a very nice phone but there are other phones available for the same price or lower with better specs.

    Re: One Plus X

I got mine yesterday as well and it feels almost the same as the LG G2 which I previously had (I loved that phone!). I would recommend anyone with an invite to get it as it is an absolute steal.
