Anyone own an LG G4 or Nexus 5X?
Hey, just wondering if anyone has one of these phones to compare. I've had a Nexus 5X for a couple of days and I'm finding the noise from the vibration motor to be incredibly irritating; I've had to disable haptic feedback as it was driving me nuts when typing. I'm not sure if it's a fault or a bit of a design flaw.
It sounds like it does on this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f-D93hEoPpA
Something which could be related is, when I place the phone down on a hard surface I can hear/feel something going boing inside, like a metal plate or something - it sounds like the vibration motor is sitting up against that which is amplifying the sound. :(

I have a G4, cant say I remember it making a noise like that but will check tonight. On my S6 I can get it to do a similar thing if I turn up the vibration sensitivity to max and I'm sure I've had another phone do a similar thing in the past. To my mind it seem like a design flaw rather than a fault.

"Related to this is the problem of the 5X’s forceful feedback. In all my years and experience, I don’t think I’ve ever encountered a device with haptic feedback this strong. Indeed many have said that the actual audible vibration from the part itself is stronger than the sensation itself.
And it is loud. Even on a semi-crowded Tokyo subway with people talking next to me, I could still hear the mechanical “noise” emitted by the build as I typed this very sentence.
This brings up two specific issues for concern:
1. If haptic feedback is this strong, will the internals wear out over time due to too much use?
2. Why isn’t there a way to manually adjust the haptic feedback intensity in the Usability settings option? Given that high intensity might be best for people who have certain disabilities, it seems fundamentally relevant."

Yeah that's basically my experience with it. Strange that not many reviews have picked up on it but then again it's not all that audible when you're in a loud office I guess.
It's not something I've ever really noticed on a phone before (having played with dozens of smartphones) nor something I imagined could be an issue so never thought to check before buying.
Re: Anyone own an LG G4 or Nexus 5X?
I've had two iterations of the Nexus 6 (yes 6, not 5 :)) and while neither of them made a noise like that my first model didn't really have a consistent vibration it felt a little loose and wild, however my latest model which is probably about 10 months newer seems to be perfect, I dare say this is a teething problem of a new device and will probably be ironed out in later hardware versions.
I've used two LG G4 devices and neither are like the video posted above.

Got a G4, nothing close to that level of feedback. That's pretty heavy, I can't imagine how it would be if you were on a call and had to check something real quick. The person on the other end would just hate you.
