    Android 6.0 Marshmallow - Who's got it?

It just popped up this morning on my Moto X 2014, installing now. Anything to look out for?

Nothing for my Moto G2 yet.

I'd be interested to hear how you get on with it. In my experience, operating systems never get smaller, and I am already getting memory limitation problems, although clearing the cache has helped.

The big plus for me would be able to make better use of the SD card for application storage.

Well, it's an 800+Mb install, and it seems to be just the same as before, with a few graphical tweaks. Might give it a factory reset and see what's what...

The main difference is doze - if you're like me, you'll want it to kick in faster(there are apps that'll do that for you, naptime for example - but that requires root)
You'll also want to exclude certain apps from it if you want your notifications to wake the phone up(gmail for example)
When it works it's absolutely stellar for battery life.

I got my update on my moto x style and it's awesome. Doze works well but need to optimise it slightly. Google on tap is very good.

The G4 is apparently several weeks into it's Marshmallow rollout but I've yet to see much of it.

    Here's hoping it's quick!

Re: Android 6.0 Marshmallow - Who's got it?

Running 6.0 on both my Z3 (beta test) and G4 (self install) battery life has definitely improved the G4 and it seems more fluid and snappier. Z3 remains just as good as it ever was.

Re: Android 6.0 Marshmallow - Who's got it?

Doze is performing well. I seem to be getting some weird bug where after I unlock my phone, a random app wants to uninstall itself.

    Strange.

Re: Android 6.0 Marshmallow - Who's got it?

Well, the first day was a bit disappointing with not much change to battery life (out on works Christmas do, no access to charger, battery running out quick), so I did a factory reset/restore on Saturday, and battery life seems much improved. Pretty happy now...

Re: Android 6.0 Marshmallow - Who's got it?

Got M on my Nexus 7 Wifi-only a few weeks ago.

Annoyingly they've removed the USB tethering network option, so I can't use it as a USB WiFi connection any more. That used to be very for an old machine I had. Fortunately I have other devices which I now refuse to upgrade for a while.

Sadly not coming to Xperia Z, any idea if it's going to original Nexus 7?

Loving it on my old nexus 5. Doze made the battery last a day again for a while (its been dying slowly). Making me very nervous about getting a non-nexus phone again - I like my updates!

I got the Moto G 2nd gen... And I'm using cyanogenmod which right now is working with android 6.0. I must say it feels very nice and smooth considering the phone specifications!

I will only use stock Android that doesn't require root access on a phone for security reasons.
