Odd Android issue - Permissions
I've got a Moto X Force on Marshmallow, and annoyingly, my app permissions keep getting reset.
It's probably very secure now, but it's annoying that if I want to take a photo or download something, I have to re-apply the permissions every day.
Also, you may thing it's just a case of clicking 'Allow' when the app requests it, but I then get a message about 'permissions can't be applied while apps are allowed to draw over other apps'.
Anyone else seen this?
Re: Odd Android issue - Permissions
Have you been changing the Android partitions / rooting the device?
Re: Odd Android issue - Permissions
Nope, all standard. Nosing around, it seems it may be Twilight causing the issue. I'm not sure if the blue light thing even stands up, so I might just get rid of it.
Re: Odd Android issue - Permissions
That's weird, I thought Android wouldn't allow interacting with any special dialogue such as permissions or installing apps when there was something drawing over the screen like those blue light filters. Maybe try pausing it for a day and seeing if it persists?
Re: Odd Android issue - Permissions
I've re-installed it, I'll see how it goes. I'll switch it off if it continues. Seems a common problem, particularly on HTC phones...
Re: Odd Android issue - Permissions
This will be down to twilight. Android doesn't allow system prompts to be clicked on while an overlay is active in an attempt to prevent clickjacking attacks. The settings to turn overlays on/off can be found by:
Go to the Device Settings.
Tap "Apps"
On the top right, tap the gear icon.
Under Advanced, chose "Draw over other apps"
Toggle "Permit drawing over other apps" for the desired app
