Large Android tablet/slates
I have a HP Slate 21 Pro which we use in the kitchen for lightweight internet access, iPlayer/Netflix/Amazon streaming for the kids and the like. It's getting a bit long in the tooth now, it was a bit out of date Android-wise even when we got it and it's starting to feel slow, even after a factory reset. I think it's on Android 4.4.2 or thereabouts.
We really like having an Android device there but would like to replace it with something newer but struggling to find anything. I guess the first question is, does anyone know of anything similar (22" touch screen or thereabouts, recent Android version) to replace it? If not then is it possible to recreate something with a touch-enabled monitor and attaching some sort of Android on a stick type device?

Will a smart TV or Chromecast not do the trick?
Re: Large Android tablet/slates
Don't know much about Chromecast but smart tvs tend not to be touch controlled do they? Also web browsers on these things tend to be a bit ropey IME?
Re: Large Android tablet/slates
Apart from HP, the only other maker I know to do a large Android 'tablet' is Samsung with the Galaxy View at 18.4 inches. Even then, Samsung stopped at Android 5.1, so all that's going to happen is you will have the same problem a little further down the line. And it will be a costly decision, at around £500. I do note that someone at XDA has taken it upon themselves to make a Lineage OS (spiritual successor to Cyanogenmod) ROM for it, but it is still in its infancy.
Since touch interface is an important part and given your kitchen use case, I'd suggest a Windows 10 All In One to keep it neat. Windows 10 has come a long way in improving its touch interface, and with Windows 10 AIOs, you will have a lot more choice, better longevity since Windows updates and software are manufacturer agnostic and the ability to run it like a full desktop should the need or desire arise.

Just in case you missed it on the Hexus front page:

Only 18.4" though.
Re: Large Android tablet/slates
Thanks both. I had seen the Nokia thing, will watch out for that but I probably don't want to go smaller.
I also don't really want another Windows device which is why I went for the HP thing in the first place. I'm not sure I agree about Windows being totally hardware agnostic, at least not entirely - at some point MS will stop supporting older hardware too and keeping drivers and the like up to date just isn't a factor with an Android device. There's also the likely cost disparity to think about too.
