    Xiaomi Mi A1

    £120 new online
Released in the last 12 months
Android One so guaranteed updates for the forseeable future with stock and latest version of Android
5.5" screen (bigger than both Moto C and Nokia 1) so better for failing eyes
1080p screen so good resolution too

I have used one and it's awesome for the dosh! Even the 50mm equivalent Tele lens is not bad!

The specs of Xiaomi phones are really good though I'm not sure if their hardware quality is robust.

Moto G5 is a decent smartphone with lower rate. Or you can buy cheaper Android phone made by china company on ebay or Aliexpress

Moto G6 Play - Carphone warehouse sometimes do silly deals with a 1 month Sim contract on handset. Managed to get the phone for £69 + £13 for a one month vodafone contract. cancelled the contract.

Here is a comparison of the Moto C and Nokia 1:

I would go for the Nokia 1 as it ships with the latest version of Android, but in its cut down Go version(which is meant to be more efficient). Tutuapp 9apps Showbox Also apparently there is a 20% code on eBay which is active later today:

I've never had a problem with Xiaomi hardware. It's just MIUI that I can't get on with but if you're fine with that or flashing then there's no problem.

I recommend Samsung galaxy a50! Great phone for the price and much cheaper than the flagship models.
