Yeah, im in the same position. Nice phone, but i think i over-estimated its MP3 playing capabilities. A dedicated player is on my list too.

What datacable do you use?

I use an el-cheapo one of eBay. Cost me about £5 (with a disc of games, apps, wallpaper etc). At the end of the day, it's just wires so it not worth spending a fortune for a Nokia one (i have seen some high street shops selling them for £49.99)

I heard theres a big difference between the proper datacables and cheapo ones, something about the cheap ones not being real USB but instead being the old serial ones spliced with a USB plug on the end. Not sure how that affects it.

But i still dont know the actual model one im looking for.

I don't think you can do that. USB cables would be just as easy to produce all most as cheaply. Interesting though, i will have a look into it. My el-chepo one works a treat mind.

I've been told if it has a box int he middle of the cable then its one of the cheapo ones. Or if it has an unusually large plug on either end. Probably to hide the splicing.
