    Android Launcher suggestions please!

Picked up a new handset recently after I got sick of the laggy performance of my Blackberry keyONE (and, to be fair, after I'd dropped it so many times that the back was held on with insulation tape ).

This morning, the launcher (Quickstep) hung. A quick google turned up some other people who've had issues with Quickstep - not many, but enough to make me ponder switching launcher.

    So:

    a) has anyone tried the Microsoft Launcher (which I was considering for my BB before I got a new phone), and
    b) what other launchers would people recommend?

The paid for version of Nova Launcher has been doing a great job for me for a number of years across multiple devices. It is very customisable and simply works.

    Re: Android Launcher suggestions please!

I had the Microsoft Launcher for a while. Its fine but I just went back to the built in launcher on my Nokia (No idea if its Quickstep) as it was a little quirky at times. If you use bing/outlook etc its great otherwise its not so useful. I'd say give it a try for a few weeks and see how you get on? Its free to try and easy to switch back. I have used Nova in the past but decided against having an additional app using resources but its definitely a good alternative and if you install the google survey app and complete a few surveys (usually have you visited this shop or Youtube recommendation tuning) the credit you build will pay for Nova while you try out the Microsoft Launcher...

Edit: Just launched the Microsoft launcher and remember why I switched back now - The built in news feed is rubbish. Google's Now is way better and I use it a lot. I do have QuickStep...

    Re: Android Launcher suggestions please!

Well, I was considering this thing: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d....tltheme.lcars

I assume that's a launcher. I admittedly don't actually know what use an aftermarket launcher is compared to the one I got on my phone already, and didn't see any difference aside from being able to config it a bit differently.

    Either way, there's another suggestion.

Nova Launcher is reduced from £3.99 down to just 59p right now on the Google Play Store.

Yes I agree with Nova launcher. I'm using it myself and the features are amazing. One of the most useful is long press menu on an icon gives you access to app info.

+1 for Nova launcher, best I've tried. Even bought it as I thought it is a great piece of work that deserves it.
