    Best <£250 Smart phone?

    Hi guys,

As per title, I am after a new phone for the £200-£250 mark.

Main desires are the best camera for the money, with USB C, battery life and Micro SD slots all being desirable in that order.

Current favorite is the Xiaomi Mi 9 SE, but it doesn't have a Micro SD slot and the 128gb is a big price jump over the 64gb.

Any other recommendations, or phones worth considering?

    Thanks,

I've found this site useful before..

    https://www.gsmarena.com/search.php3?

Do you really need more than 64Gb storage?
I've got 128Gb on my iPhone and despite having Spotify playlists and about 30 podcast episodes on there, as well as Dropbox, OneDrive and a load of pictures I'm using 23Gb...

    Re: Best <£250 Smart phone?

I've recently bought a Cubot X19 and I'm pretty happy with it - 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, FHD+ screen, USB C, battery lasts me about 3 days (I'm a relatively light user, mind), and it has a micro SD slot. And the best bit is it's only ~ £100.

EDIT: just noticed you mentioned the camera, which isn't the X19's strong point - it's adequate but no more. Then again, it's only £100...

    Re: Best <£250 Smart phone?

A vote for the Realme X2 from me. The international version has 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Snapdragon 730 and a very competent quad camera setup round out the specs. It has USB-C, microSD and they have promised an upgrade to Android 10. Pulling it ahead of the pack for these Chinese phones for me, is the fact that it has NFC which other makers seem to omit and an AMOLED display (though Xiaomi does frequently use these as well). Its 210-220 pounds on Aliexpress for the International version, though you can buy a Chinese version with an 'english ROM' and 6GB of RAM for cheaper but I'm wary of resellers using dodgy or just poor ROMs.

If Xiaomi is your preference, the Mi9T or Redmi K20 are also very good phones in this price range.

This looks a bargain at the price:

not usb c but it does tick the other boxes.

I'd look at Huawei and Honor

Start with this for an example:

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/HONOR-Displ...BPNF2T8NB8DFN5

Try to stick with 4gb ram(not 3gb- makes quite a difference when you have a lot going on) and 128gig storage, then get a nice quick micro SD card for extra storage.. and for that you get a lot of phone, good camera and mine are both super reliable.

This is just a fraction under £250.

    https://www.gsmarena.com/nokia_7_2-9833.php

The camera is something you'd need to decide for yourself, whilst it is 48MP, pixels aren't everything.

I highly recommend Xiaomi Redmi note 7...cheap, fast, efficient, no bugs, photos are ok ( not like iphone), simply does it all

At the moment the best under £250 is probably huawei mate 20 pro.

A Mi 10T Lite is a decent option at £229.
