If it not locked to 3's network then yes it can. Sorry but I don't know 3's policy on phone locking, only Vodafone's

Even more unfortunate is that the 6630 is not unlockable (as far as I know) by anyone outside of the networks or nokia at present.

But then that's always the inherent problem with box-breaking; if you don't check first, you get stung. If you wait a while someone will come up with a solution to unlock your handset, then yes, it could be used on Vodafone.

I unlock phones at work too. It is possible to temporarily remove the sim-lock with a partial flash of the rom, but its not a solution I'd recommend. The only other hope currently is the 'famed' Dejan, who apparently has a solution, but only if you actually go to Croatia, and even then you've actually got to find him.

A sim-free handset would be cheaper.

Just to be clear, I don't unlock phones at work, I just work in the industry. So the answer thestjohn has given is probably the most accurate one you're going to get as he seems to do this for a living.

Hi mate, no problem & no offfence taken I just didn't want people to think that that was what I do cos it isn't. I know what you mean about the dodginess but this is something I would like to be clear on.

Sim unlocking / network unlocking phones is 100% legal there is nothing dodgy about it, it's only percieved that way. Hell, the networks will even assist you, if you're willing to pay. We only intoduced it in order to try & cut down on pack/box splitting.

The trouble is people confuse unlocking with imei tumbling, whereby the imei number of a phone is changed. This is 100% ILLEGAL. What you find though is that many people/dodgy dealers involved with sim/network unlocking are also involved with imei tumbling hence people see sim unlocking as dodgy.
