Morning guys where are we these days with AV on Android devices?
Something that's not too intrusive but maybe includes adblocking of some sort as well, if such a thing exists.

For adblocking I use uBlock Origin within the browser.
In addition I use adguard's DNS (https://adguard.com/en/blog/adguard-...addresses.html)
However, this DNS method will break some free aps with ads (mostly games for me), so I use a DNS changer app to be able to easily turn the DNS on & off as required.
Cloudflare also have a DNS, but doesn't block ads, it only stops malware & adult content if you prefer a more respected brand

My only experience with AV on Android was when I had an LG G5 with forced McAfee installed & Enabled. This was a complete nightmare, pop ups and very controlling, LG finally allowed us to disable the app, but couldn't uninstall it. To this day I've never had another AV on my phone. I don't download APKs on my daily driver and I'm happy with uBlock Origin/Adguard for what I do on the phone. I'd say implementing a backup routine is more important than an AV and where I'd spend my money/efforts.
A few other things I do, I don't join anyones WiFi unless I have absolutely no data signal in that location, and I'm there for a significant period of time. Bluetooth off by default. Developer mode disabled.

I just use brave browser for adblocking. It's more or less chrome with a built in adblocker.
