After the usual threatening to leave yada yada yada, O2 Online agreed to let me have a free V3 on upgrade. They tried to charge me £250, even though it's now free on new contracts the cheeky git's.
It's trully stunning phone. First non-nokia I have owned in years but I have grown bored of Nokia and the new designs are really nasty IMO. The build quality of the V3 is the best I have ever seen in a phone. The model I have must be a slightly updated version too, as many people complained of the battery cover being plastic but mine is aluminium. I find it just as easy as Nokia's too use, appart from texting - which is, as usuall on non-nokia's, a bit of a chore (too much going to menu's etc to send a simple text). It also has NO stupidly low quality pointless video recording or poor MP3 player implimentation - which my 6230 had and I don't want. I just want a great phone, not a half assed media device or PDA. I will buy a proper MP3 player or PDA if i want all that jazz.
Anyway, I like the fact that it comes with a USB cable a decent(ish) software in the box. But the only thing it does not do it install apps/games. How do i go about this? Is there software to do this? There is no way I am going to pay £5 for a cut down java version of an 80's Comadore 64 game.
One thing that does annoy me about my V3 is this - If a contact is both on the SIM and in the phones memory it shows up twice on the phone book. On nokia's this is a simple case of choosing Phone, sim or both in the settings. But I can't find such a setting, can anyone point me in the right direction?
Thanks![]()
