That is a grossly misinformed comment. I've had my MPx200 for going on 2 years, yet have not once been tempted to upgrade, despite the fact it is now pretty much bottom of the pile in terms of MS Smartphones. The contact system has yet to be rivalled by any phone I've seen. Nearly all new phones nowadays are boasting video playback and MP3 playback etc, I've been watching full length DIVX movies on my phone from the SD card for years.

Yup, gotta agree with Norky; Loved my MPx200, then got a C500 which I find utterly superb. Will probably hang onto it until Mobile 5 comes along, by which both it and my M1000 (yes, ANOTHER smartphone) will be due for upgrade.

they are ok for some people but for most they are terrible ... phones need to be user frendly ... i have tried both your phones and got annoyed with both .. they need to have phone interfaces not windows.

Windows Mobile 5 might just changed your mind. I have to agree with what you are saying about 2003 and earlier though

Agreed. Have you tried any of the Nokia smartphones? Their interface (Series 60) is almost identical to Nokia's non-smartphones (Series 40) for making calls and sending texts.

I've had a play with the 6680 and it's a very, very nice phone in my opinion.

It's taken everything that was good about the 6630 and improved on it. The lens cover is a very good idea and the "active idle" screen is a very neat little addition (even if it was stolen directly from Microsoft ).

It's a little on the large side but don't forget that all 3G phones are. I personally don't think it's ugly and according to market research the general consensus is that it's the best looking 3G phone around!

Yea might just be true, we (O2) are getting them end of may/early june so that may be the case.
Look out for quite a few new phones comming out in the next month or so.
6230i is comming out. Nothing too flash just an upgrade of the original 6230 1.3mpix digicam and more mem i think.
Siemens have made an interesting phone (SK65) that rotates to give you a full qwerty keyboard
6680 as you said is joining the nokia 3G collection.
That SE W800 is going to be interesting too going too.

XDA IIi Still pwnd them all though

and so on...all i think i can remember from out comming soon list although there was quite a few more.

If you want a good smart phone and you want it now get the MDA compact on T-Mob, Had mine about a fortnight and 0 issues with it. Only thing is i can no longer txt while walking, well, not particularly well, the touchpad thing is ok, but my thumbs are too fat. Other than that its marvellous, contacts/phonebook actually easier to use than my old V600, basically its just great.
