    Sony Ericsson K750i

Just got me mits on a new K750i. All I can say is, "wow!". I was thinking of selling it striaght on eBay as new because they are fetching up to £400 right now. But no way. I thought it was going to be nice, but not this nice. Everything about it is just awesome. The build quality (metal and solid), games (proper 3D), MP3 player (best i have seen on a phone), and the photos? I can't believe they were takan on a phone. Camera phones have really started to come of age now.

I may do a mini-review for the reviews forum. But until then, get this phone!

Ok, here is sample photo for you. Please note that A) I have not yet played with the quality settings yet (just out of the box settings - does go higher), B) The lighting today was VERY poor. I have also resized too and I am not sure if I saved them right (i.e. lost quality)

I will post the box contents later as requested. But i can say it has a 64MB MS duo pro + plus and adaptor so it can be pluged into a normal memory stick reader if yours do no read duo pros. Software, charger and headphones etc.

if thats not top quality then i'm more than happy i just ordered one. thats the level of sharpness i think is more than good enough to make pics worth taking. on the other cam phones i tried then sent back they were just so poor faces and detail were just to crappy to be worth keeping the pics. they reckon stock thursday so hopefully i'll have it by the weekend.

If you want to see the true camera output, dont resize the images. That way you can see how they look at their intended resolution.

    Free on some upgrades.

Definately free on O2 200 and above. IIRC it might be O2 100 as well.

Model we had in store didnt have any branding on it. Just looked exactly like the images on the web.

My worry is that Orange will go further with their branding with the K750i than the K700i which would be terrible IMHO.

I have been with O2 Online for over 3 years so, after speaking to the retention department and saying I was thinking of leaving for Vodaphone, they gave me it for free and also reduced my line rental by £10 a month for the year. I also have an extra 100 mins a month for the year. So now I am on O2 Online 200 - for £20 per month with 300 xnetwork any time mins and 100 free texts. Not bad eh.

It's very nice to hold and use, about the same size of a K700. One of the complaints people had with previous SE's was the slowdown some people experienced navigating menu's etc. I'm pleased to say they have sorted it out with the K750. There is a bit of slow down when working with photo's but it's hardly a major issue. The keypad is not the nicest I have used, but it's still good, I am just nitpicking really. It's hard to find fault with this phone tbo.

There is some O2 branding, but it's only with the start up logo and wallpaper etc. All this can be changed to your own images and 'themes', so you won't have to see any O2 rubbish at all. There are no O2 logos on the case, but O2 don't normally do this, unlike the other networks. Some of the O2 picture's are locked - so you can't delete them completely off the phone, but these can be removed using third party software provided by the mobile modding community anyway. Pop down to www.howardforums.com for more info.
It's also unlocked, but even if it does come locked you can get free unlock codes of the net. PM me for details.

Another neat feature this phone has, which i have not seen before, it's using the bluetooth to remote control your PC's desktop, media player etc.

O2 are usually the best if you want to keep branding to a minimum. My Nokia 7610 came without any physical branding and only a screensaver and a theme on the software-side. My friend's K700i even came unlocked!

I wonder if Vodafone will lock out mp3 ringtone functionality, like they have on the SE S700?
