Just a heads up, sony have confirmed there is a problem with the handsets which even with a update might not work.
Till sony work out the bugs, o2 will not be sending any k750i's out.
/me sees the number of disconnections soar.....![]()
The last bunch of SE Phones have had crap firmware. Which is a shame as I love their phones
The S700i is a joke when the message box is full, it gets the messages 10+ times after you've cleared space.
I think there was a simular problem with the K700i too.
and the mms size on k750 is limited to 100k apparently...

UPDATE : Been looking into this most afternoon as I have started having a few niggles with mine now. Just the like the S700i and K700i, the K750i does appear to have quite a few bugs. Some people seem to be getting major lock-ups and some have smaller issues. The scale and level of the problems seems to be down to a couple of factors; which network you are on and how much memory your phone is using (full inbox's, many photo's etc).
The Sony Ericsson Update Service website no longer supports updating firmware on O2 configured K750i's. I seems the update, which you can't roll back, is incompatible with O2's systems and GPRS won't work. If you are on any other network you can still update your firmware using SEUS, but it does not solve all the problems.
O2 are now testing a new batch of updated K750i's. When testing ends on the 20th of this month we will be able to pop into our local O2 stores and do a straight swap. Don't know what the other networks are doing, but knowing Orange they will take bloody ages to sort it out.
Will be sorted very soon, but it seems that '7' is not Sony Ericsson's lucky number![]()
I believe the MMS limit was added by request of the operators. Puts less strain on the GPRS network. Not really an issuse for me, but at least i would save me money. Data usage on mobiles is still massively over charged.
No MMS limit on my S700i...
Its been fine for me so long as you keep you inbox size down and clear out your sent items regularly (which i was in the habit of doing before this phone)
The limit is there so that you don't start sending silly sized files, since MMS are charged per message.
100k is the usual limit, although some operators restrict it to 30k.
The MMS size is limited by the network, not the handset. For example 3 allow a 300kb MMS size IIRC. O2 are 30kb IIRC.
Haven't had any issues with the vodaphone k750i although they do bloke MP3 ringtones, needed to use the DRM tool from sony to convert the file.
Not had any issues with my unbranded K750, bought on the day of release
Using it with Vodafone, fairly full inbox (i've had the 95% message once or twice so far), not much storage used though. Haven't touched the firmware (because it works great as is).
They still have at least one happy customer![]()
My K750i is working ok, all i can suggest is don't move images once you've set them as your background, screen saver etc... it does cause the phone to produce worringly screwed up screens that could scare someone who can't figure out why it's doing that.
The only hiccup i've had is, twice now, my screen has gone white, remained white for 10-15 seconds after me frantically pressing everything i can before turning back to normal and working fine... hmmm.
that last issue is the phone rebooting itself afaik. Mines done that once or twice on latest firmware and when the screen comes back it's searching for a network
Got my K750i in the post today. Everything seems to be alrite so far. Its vodafone if that makes any difference, although the no mp3 as ringtone without DRM thing is pretty anoyyin.
You've got to have a dream, if you don't have a dream, how you gonna have a dream come true?
