C500 Owners - New Firmware released

On the Orange site; Make sure you've got the handset selected, click help and support, using your phone, your phones features, then finally download software.

Main plus point is media player 10.

Takes around 5 mins to flash, make sure you've backed up and have fully charged battery

Good point jiff, the windows media player upgrade apparently now allows the c500 to use mp3 as ringtones
There's more comments about it over on modaco:

Don't forget though the New C550 is now available on Orange Contract, and shortly on PayG.
It's free on tariffs of £30pm or more Not seen any shots from the 1.3mp camera yet though

Nope , I tend to listen to my music really loudly though so I don't really notice it THAT much...

I think the most retarded thing with the C500 though cannot be fixed with a firmware update. Its... dum-dum-dum.... the headset. It's officially the most poo thing ever. Glad to see they totally changed it on the C550 headset. To combat this pooness, I bought a cheap small 2mm to 3mm headphone adapter, which allows me to put my iPod headphones in

Since updating to the new ROM, I've had problems with my calls - sometimes my voice is virtually untintelligable to the people on the other end. Calling them straight back resolves the issue - very odd.

Yup, until I get the Sony in-ear earphones... I'm not the kind of audiophile to invest in £200 earphones, I think its pretty ridiculous as I cannot justify the need for it for the price.

Yea I would say 1 min realistically - which is i agree, quite ridiculous in comparison to the Nokia phones and the like
