    Best PDA?

I quite like the iPaq 4700, but it was launched at the end of 2004 so is it due for renewal?

What other HIGH end PDAs do you recommend?

A lot of people reckon that the Dell Axim 50v is the current daddy of unconnected PDAs.

Watch out though, Windows Mobile 5 is out in September. Some manufacturers, like Dell, will be selling an upgrade to the new version but others will not.

The Fujitsu Siemens Pocket Loox 720 looks like a reasonable choice, too - built-in camera, VGA screen, reasonable battery capacity.

4700 gets my vote. Its also been on the PC Pro 'A list' since it was announced. Have been very pleased with mine.

Now if it only had a phone built in and blackberry push technology.....

Last time I looked the price of the 4700 had fallen significantly making the choice between it and the X50v harder. For reference I have a X50v and would highly recommend it but the 4700 comes with more value added features which you may decide makes it worth the difference.

Dell have announced they will *sell* an upgrade to WM5 but with such a high-spec'd PDA as the 4700 I'd wager HP will do the same.

The Dell X50V is difficult to beat for sheer bang per buck. 4700 is good. Palm LifeDrive looks interesting. OQO model 01 would be the the daddy.

Had my Dell Axim X50v since feb.. can't beat it, best gadget I've ever bought. Wireless so I can surf from my sofa and lookup exactly who is that bloke playing the bad guy in CSI Miami this week, and bluetooth so I can get on the 'net from pretty much anywhere via my phone and GPRS.
Screen is fantastic, especially if you install a vgaHack so it's running in real 640x480 glory. Perfect for games, get yourself ScummVM and play Monkey Island 1&2 all over again! Fantastic.
CF and sd slots make it great for reveiwing photos taken on your digital camera on a screen bigger than the postage stamp on most compact digicams. Or load them up with MP3s and stick in some headphones.
Can install TomTom on it too, get yourself a bluetooth or CompactFlash GPS device and you have your own navigation system too.
Reading this back it sounds like I work for Dell! But I don't honest!!
