Looks chunky...I've got the nokia 9500, and its' depth really pisses me off...that looks even worse...

Had an XDA in its first incarnation, and loved it, so I'll certainly be taking a look it's out in the stores.

I was pretty excited by that when i saw it, then i found out the size, i was thinking it was gonna be magician/wizard sized, when it turns out that it is infact the same size as an ordinary XDA, which is far far too big imo

I see this XDA Exec weighs in at 285g, which is not particularly heavy, but heavy enough when you can get a smartphone half that weight. I guess it has to be that big to pack all the electronics in.

It would appear to be quite tricky choosing the right mobile device, as this has a lot to do with what you want to do use them for. For example, what do you go for when a phone is not good enough, and a laptop too big - we end up looking at this sort of thing, which sits in the middle ground.

Personally, if there is going to be a lot of useful features onboard, then I would prefer to see a fold out full sized keyboard, and then it might be used more like like a computer. Otherwise, smaller and lighter would seem better - then you don't get your pockets stretched quite so much!

I think it's aimed as a sort of 'laptop' replacement rather than straight phone. The universal (HTC btw) is far too big for a normal phone.

Not a fan, it looks too bulky to me. Why can't O2 brand an HTC like the Orange C500/550? I'd be sorely tempted to switch to contract through work then...

Have O2 got the Blackberry push technology working with this? They announced it a few months back with availability Summer 2005.

blackberry hasn't made a client for it - i believe they're using "good" based technology which can emulate a blackberry client - I've used their client and it works fine.

I heard that O2 were not going to make a client for the XDAIIi or S because the fact it looses everything when the batteries go flat.
