    Upgrading from a C500

I have had my C500 for a good year now and want to upgrade. Is there anything worth upgrading to? I like the look of the C550 but it is much the same as the C500 so not much point. Is the M500 a good choice?

Do you just want a change? I have never used a phone better than the c500.

Your main choices are probably the SPV M500, SPV C550 and Nokia 6680.

The M500 runs the full Pocket PC PDA OS, so it's a lot more powerful than the C500. It's a very nice size and a lot of people love it. There's no wifi, but you can buy an add-on wifi card for it.

The C550 is pretty similar to the C500, as you said. The main upgrades are the QVGA screen, music buttons, 1.3MP camera (sadly, very poor) and the joystick (yes, a proper joystick! ). A lot of people have been disappointed by it, but it's still certainly better than the C500.

The Nokia 6680 is probably the most "advanced" smartphone on the market right now. It's a 3G phone and has a very decent 1.3MP camera. It's also the only phone that works on Orange's mobile TV service (free for the first three months and then £10 a month after that). Orange also bundle 1GB of data for the first three months with this phone, which is nice for surfing the net and chatting on MSN.

I just got my C550 yesterday after upgrading from a C500.

If you do go down this route make sure your applications will work on the C550, I have found most of the programs I use do work but there are a few out there that don't work.

I am thinking of upgrading to a M500 in a few months, it looks very nice and will give a lot more functionality, I've always fancied this type of phone and finally the M500 is that and a decent size

I have a Qtek S100 (M500 with a different name) and it's fantastic. Love it and there's nothing to touch it for me

Yup, you can drop a SD card with wifi in the SDIO slot on the top.
