    Nokia

    Only other real competitor is Sony Ericsson, and they make rubbish phones with appauling software.

    I've had both, and a sharp + samsung and nothing beats the reliability, build quality, ease of use and feature set of my nokias

    I just wish they wouldnt lumber them with java...horrible memory eating thing grr

    Nokia 3330e -> SE T68i -> SE T610

    I love my free (given to me by a friend) T610, I'm not a heavy user, but I like the customisability. I would consider other brands, but a new phone isn't a priority. I love FMA and Metris http://midlet.org/repository/jamesbrennan/metris/ which is a great little freeware tetris clone. As for unreliability, I haven't found much problem with it, the joystick is a bit sensitive, but it is a well worn year and a half before I got it.

    Wow...I've had a mobile phone, now looking back its scary how many I've been through, we're talking about over 20 by now! Started having one when Orange first came out in this country, they released 2 models: the more expensive 'executive' Nokia, and the Motorola that I had.

    Currently using only one mobile (for once), a Sony Ericsson P910. TBH, my contract is up, and I'm due an upgrade, but no other phone apart from the P910 has the functionality that I need, except the Nokia one, but I've come to realise the Nokia interface as too restricted.

    Can't stand the tiny phones, can't press the buttons properly. People look at the P910 and say its big, but considering I've actually used one of those near first free-standing models of Motorola, nothing is ever going to be as big as that.

    If nokia didn't slack i'd never have to look elsewhere, unfortunately they just don't seem to have a good, small "it" phone this year. Last year the 6230 beat anything else hands down.

    Now i have to consider SE's K750i or W800i, can't find a very up-to-date small nokia phone that competes

    For the last ten years, all Nokia and one Sony Ericsson.

    Have had a Samsung D500 for last four months, love it to bits

    In fact, first mobile I've actually really liked.

    And yes, I know it was out of date 28 days after I got it

    Sagem MYC2 (big up for cheap phones from random French electronics companies - hell they make radars as well dammit), think my last one was a Motorola. Had a radio in it, that was big for the time. Literally.

    well, maybe software wise (has that been sorted completly with the k750i now?) but by spec, they're pretty damn good and you know it

    I love Sony Ericsson to bits. Their phones have been a refreshing change from the crap that Nokia put on the market.

    *crazy*

    Ok so nokia produce some crap phones, but they also produce some of the best phones on the market. 3210, 3330, 6230(i) etc etc - excellent phones with great feature ranges and familiar, easy to use software even for none techies. Unlike SE with their generally (lastest models excluded here) slow and none intuitive software. I never liked the build quality on them either, and their reliability factor...well its not much worse than nokias but at least its easy to get a nokia repaired..
