Gonna be the perfect upgrade to my S700i

Hope it uses the same firmware as the W800i

Considering its got 470MB built in memory I doubt itll come with a memory card (or maybe a small one) but it has the slot for one thankfully.

Firmware is kinda like the OS for the phone...

I listened to the engadget podcast the other day and they mentioned a Sony Ericsson Walkman phone in development with a harddrive coming out early next year (maybe around xmas time). I will probably bypass the W900i and wait to see what next year brings. My k750i will serve me fine until then (i can see what real benifits the W900i will bring me personally. 3G and video calling have no attractions for me at all). A few HDD phones are in the pipelines for early next year so i think it's worth waiting unless your in the market right now.

There are not many things i really want in a phone that the K750i does not give me, except for a harddrive for my music. I really really want one now. I hope they develop better firmware regards the music playback/format capabilites go too. ATRAC+ supoort would be a real major bonus for me.

Still, I am weary of HD on mobile phones. I *do* drop my phone. And since the phone is something you take out of your pocket more often than an MP3 player, I imagine that the drop rate is a little higher too.

Plus, I'll skip on first gen product. Whether I get the W900i depends on when it comes out. I hope soooon.

Wow, a very nice mobile.. Looks impressive, thanks for posting.

I will have to look into this one, see if I can get one to *play* with...! To see whether it stands up to what it says..

Yes, it will be interesting to see how rebust they will be. Nokia delayed theirs for that very reason. But thet have made significant advances in HDD protection, such as motion sensors that park the read head before it hits the floor. It is a worry, but im still looking forward to them even if a have to be more carfull.

Looks nice but the swivel range of phones tend to be that little bit too big for a walker.

I'll need to compare it to the K750 for size
