Using O2 pay as you go phone in Thailand?

    Hi

Can anyone advice me one this please. My Parent are travelling to Thailand on holiday soon. My Mum is on a O2 Pay as you go sim and her phone is a Nokia 3100 which i believe is a Tri-Band phone.

My question is: Is it possible her to make or receive calls or text messages to/from the UK using the O2 sim while she is there? I have been trying to find this out on the O2 site but am a little confused.

Any advice would be gratefully received.

    Afternoon,

Note sure if you found this on the website... http://travelabroad.o2-uktech.com/location.php

From the link above there is a link to a coverage map ... http://www.gsmworld.com/cgi-bin/ni_m...&net=00&opts=2

Looks like not of Thailand is covered and note the cost.

Yup, I've used my O2 Pay and Go phone all over Thailand with no problems, its expensive, but the coverage is good, even in tiny hill tribes
