That's amazing for a mobile phone
Wow realtime on a Nokia phone, let's hope its not the top range of their model cos I want the phone as one of my FREE upgrade when my contract runs out....
Woohoo now Assistant Manager!
I doubt you'll be getting this model for free. The N93 is top of the line.Wow realtime on a Nokia phone, let's hope its not the top range of their model cos I want the phone as one of my FREE upgrade when my contract runs out....
whooptydoo....
my axim has graphics comparable to that....
Nail on the head, but a good physical interface could be designed. It's just that with the current standard of games on mobiles (i.e. crap), nothing has warranted putting much effort into it. A games orientated mobile with that kind of power could easliy be fitted with a control sytem to rival the PSP. Some kind of 'flipping' system between stardard phone pad and game pad.Originally Posted by directhex
The biggest issue will be screen/unit size, people will need a phone the size of a small PDA to house a screen (and decent controls) worth playing.
The next big thing for mobiles is digital TV, after that the only think left to keep the constant upgrading of mobiles is going to be 'proper' gaming IMO.

i'd disagree. the playman series of games by mr.goodliving are simply awesome, with controls very well suited to keypads. yeah its not ideal, but it simply takes clever thinking to allow a phone keypad to be used in the right way. that game looks cool, but not *much* better than what i've seen on my 3250

controls? thats why you get a decent mobile device with a touch screeen......
and there are bluetooth game pads....
*rant* Clever Nokia, the price of a decent pda phone I guess but none of the funtionality. Just some fancy games to get the kids on an expensive contract or to pay the same price as a PSP for their phone. *endrant*
As for controls, why don't the just take the two screen system from the Nintendo DS, would be cool if the phone pad morphed into an 8 way controller when needed! Put it in a flip phone and that would be a nice toy.
The only PDA functionality it's missing is the touchscreen. The phone has WiFi, 3G, high res screen, bluetooth, decent camera, web-browser, e-mail, PIM sync, the ability to install 3rd party applications and run sat nav, etc....*rant* Clever Nokia, the price of a decent pda phone I guess but none of the funtionality. It's a proper smartphone.
how can you do anything like that efficiently without a thouch screen?
and i would love to see how crap the speed of the processor is, that game had fancy graphics but not much in the way of a physics engine was demonstrated
Someone wrote underneath that it has a 3 mega pixel camera with 3 x zoom amongst other things, the price of this will be something mad like 350, with most of them going on contract, will die down within about a month and settle at about 200. The battery life would be total crap if you played games like that on it. I'll stick with my trusty K750i
I keep looking at different games for my phone (C600) but to be honest I don't think I'd ever really play any games on it - and I completely agree with the previous poster - it's because of the controls!
Until someone comes up with a better method of control (or a really decent touch-sensitive screen possibly?) then games are a no no for me.
It's a TI OMAP 2420 330Mhz CPU.and i would love to see how crap the speed of the processor is
Blackberry users manage to write e-mails with a touchscreen. PSP users manage to play games without a touchscreen. The Nokia 9300 won a recent PDA user test despite not having a touchscreen.how can you do anything like that efficiently without a thouch screen?
Touchscreens are great for some uses, but they're not the be-all and end-all of HID.
