Card reader
I have the motorola slvr which can use a micro-sd (transflash) card, but if you put the card in and then want to transfer stuff from your comp to the card, you need to buy a usb data cable + the software.
The cable is quite expensive, so instead can i just buy a micro-sd card, a card reader that plugs into usb socket and then put the stuff onto the card via the pc, take out the card and put it in the phone, then just use the files on the card, whilst on the phone? Will this method work or do you HAVE to use a usb data cable? If you can do what i said,i was thinking this:

and

I assume they are compatible but just want to make sure :) Plus the card says it's OEM, does that make any difference?
TIA.

as the card comes with a micro-SD to normal SD adapter you could use this little guy

sometimes see it on Todayonly for just over £2 too.

Thanks :) But my point actually was, can i put stuff onto the memory card while its in the card reader (attached to the comp), take the card out of the card reader and put it in my phone? Or do I HAVE to buy the card, put it in the phone, attach the phone to the pc via Motorolas USB cable, and transfer the data that way? Thanks for any help.

you should be able to transfer eveything with the card reader. However i have't touched a Motorola for years, so they *might* do something weird with their memory cards, but boubtful
