I do know everything, just not all at once. It's a virtual memory problem.
I'm not sure about starting up, but reducing the size of the log certainly speeds up the menu system.
Menu --> My Own --> Log --> Options --> Settings
Change log size from 30 days to 1 day.
Might be worth a try.
My N70 is also very slow in starting up. I assumed it was a Symbian thing.
You should see my windows powered Mio A701. Great phone, pda, sat nav all in one. But it does take ages to start up!
I think slow start up is just the way it is one symbian based phones. My 6680 is the same. Great interface once it's going though, I'm not liking my new Motorola at all, I think I may try Samsung. All the new Nokias are too big for me!
Don't turn it off

Just how long a start-up are we talking? My N73 takes 30secs with a custom theme active (it'll prolly be quicker without the F-Secure AV installed.) Also depends how much memory you've got free and the size of the memory card. When the salesman demo'd the N73 it took about 45secs, but once he put a 256MB card in it shaved 25secs off the start-up.
Mind you tho 30secs is still faster than my AMD 64/300 with 1Gig of RAM at 2 minutes *YAWN*
45 seconds startup for a phone!!
thats just silly...
That made me curious so I just timed mine, took 38 seconds from the moment I turned it on.Originally Posted by Sticky Mick
I do have quite a few apps installed though which might be slowing it down.
I don't really mind the start up time so much as I very rarely turn the phone off.
It's not a phone, it's a multimedia computer.Originally Posted by Funkstar

LOL! Yeah. You're not kidding! It is a Multimedia Computer.Originally Posted by Aaron
With a 2GB Memory Card (soon to be 4GB), a handful of MP3's, a couple of compressed DIVX movies (Customised for the 320x240 screen so only about 200MB) and a copy of TCPMP Player for Pocket PC, it's a fully fledged PMP.
Although I do hate having to reboot the damn thing. My PC boots up faster!
