6230 password on memory card - HELP

HI i recently gained a nokia 6230 from a friend. He has just upgraded to a 6230i. Unfortunatley he has a habit of putting passwords on things and forgetting them! Access to the memory card has been passworded and Nokia have told him that there is nothing that can be done! Any card that gets put in the phone will be blocked by a password. Can anyone help me? Thanks.

put it in a memory card reader and reformat it to fat32 that should do it

I have tried both these methods and put in a new card, but the password still remains. There seems to be no way to reset it either. Thanks for the ideas, any more are welcome.
