Ah but the plan is to always carry superglue or some ye olde traditional tape, nothing that cant fix! how exactly would it break? its a hinge lol same as a hinge on say , erm hmm *think of flip phones*, erm... a nokia 6101? a samsung e720 i think (the pink one) ya know, unless i sit on it (as with any phone) im sure nokia have fullproofed it

1100mah is well powerful, blows a standard jobby of around 800mah well out of the water! Im sure it'll lst a good day or two, and the my symbian review comments that video recording is very forgiving on battery life

all those other phones have to 2 bits holding them to the main body, N93 has got 1 so i'm sure it will break quicker(knowing how you drop phones all the time )

and don't forget its a powerful phone so needs the extra battery power to help it keep up with a standard smart phone.

    anything else?

The extra battery power is there to make it last longer, the processor is now 333mhz as opposed to that of 220mhz in n70, n90, n91 etc and sound and video are now handled by seaprated, dedicated hardware (the video is opengl accelerated), therefore should ease the load off the processor, meaning it wont have to operate at maximum clockrate all the time.
Its impossible to have 2 bits on the n93 when it swivels around to become a laptop, it would be impossible, therefore the hinge must be stronger otherwise nokia would be recieving many complaints from people inadvertedly breaking them

If i drop her when she is closed it wont affect the hinge anymore than a standard flip shut phone hitting the floor what are the ods of dropping it flip open?
    I win

Oh, darn i kinda sirccumbed to that rather poorly
I wont have the flip open all that much lol considering i can now control mp3 playback with the flip closed - one of the n90's shortcomings was only allowing mp3 playback to operating volume controls when flip is shut.
The carl zeiss barrel will take the force of most impact if dropped downways if the flip is open, according to simple physics

so if it did chances are you would have a £450 phone that can't take pics or record videos.

More like one that couldnt optically zoom thank you very much at least it would still work, mind you that would be a huge bummer.
What am i talking about !?! that lens barrel is rock solid, ive dropped the n90 a few times, survived like a trooper, n93 will be the same, they cant make a phone so tempromental it'll break the first bit of rough play it comes up against it'd have to be bodyguarded if that is the case

Maybe its got like what the JVC hard disk camcorder has these days, u turn "Drop protection" on and when you dorp it some cheesy voice says "I've been Dropped!" or something :/ lame.... but interesting.

either way, ill be taking care of my new best friend, ive not broken a phone yet! why should i start now
Correction, i've broken a 6680 inadvertedly, took it to the beach, sat on a deckchair happily listening to music, dozed off, tide came in and a wave splashed up and over the 6680.
As the speaker holes at the top, water must've just poured in there... kept rebooting itself ever since

Still i have learned - home insurance for the n93 all the way, carry case, and no taking to the beach and dozing off!
£450 - Justified, check and mate

    Hi there

I've been hunting high and low for the N93 - where did you get it from and for how much if you dont mind me asking?

I dont know whether to wait for T-Mobile to release it or to just go for it on some other network, but prices are still high....

Hmm im finding my battery life leaving a heck of a lot to be desired, or is it just me expecting too much?
I think i may have poorly conditioned the battery... im having to charge mine twice to get it through a day! And thats today with 2 hours mp3 in the morning, a few texts, no wifi and no camera!
The 1100mah just gets sucked to nowhere!

I got a 2gb mini sd (its PURPLE!) off ebay about 5 months ago, complete no-name card, but it has good read and write rates...
If this card can work in the n93 and record video flawlessly (which it does) im sure the 7 day shop one should do

Well, another day at the grindstone, lets see how long it lasts today peeps

I cannot see how anyone would pay £450 for a phone that in 1 year will be rubbish compared to the next generation models.

Get a contract and upgrade periodically, you know it makes sense.
