    Dialaphone.co.uk - Legitimate?

OK It's about time I upgraded my trusty old Nokia to something a bit sleeker and with a few more bells and whistles. I've seen previous posters on here mention dialaphone.co.uk and that they're another trading name for the Carphone Warehouse.

I just wanted to make sure that they are legitimate and that the information I mentioned is actually correct and that they are a trustworthy company.

I was tempted by this offer here

    Free Samsung D800
    Free XBOX 360
    Free 400 cross-network, anytime minutes a month
Free 100 text messaged a month
    18 Month Contract
    £30 a month

Anybody had any experience with them?

    Thanks,

    `PROP4G4ND4

Aww that sucks; I thought it was too good to be true. Ah well, I'll probably hold on to the old Nokia for a while till the w810i comes down a bit.

    Thanks for your help anyway

I know someone at work who had no problems with them and got all the free stuff he was promised.

Dialaphone is part of Phones4U not Carphone. They operate under a different name so they don't get the P4U name mixed in with the fuss of these "Free X-Box" deals.

Basically yes they're legit, yes you can get your free X-Box and all it says, but not if you're not paying attention.

It is not commercially viable to give away all that stuff just for a £30/month contract, even for 18 months, just do the sums and you'll see. This means that not everyone gets it, and so there must be a reason for these unsuccessful claims.

Knee-jerk reaction is "They're con-merchants and don't pay up!", but the real reason is that half the people don't actually read the terms & conditions and realise they only have a few days to claim the X-Box, and therefore fail to claim it, and then go on a rampage about how it isn't their fault and how they're owed a console despite not sticking to the rules.

So look at it as a game where the smart people win. Stay alert, read the rules and follow them to the letter and you will have yourself an XBox 360 (probably in 6 months time as that is the "safe-point" for them to keep their commissions if you cancel). Break the rules in any way (and it's your own fault if you don't read them thoroughly) then you will not be getting an X-Box.

At the end of the day even if you lose, you got a free phone and an ordinary contract you'd have been paying for anyway. Oh and good luck if you go for it!

Bear in mind you dont get the free stuff until like 120 days after your contract started

I had a contract with them, they were pretty good.... just sent off for my final redemption....

They are a reputable company, and as chicken says - you just have to read the T+Cs - like for any contract.

I would give that one a miss anyway as it's on 02 (thats a bigger problem than dialaphone could be), but as a company they are not too bad.

If your a student you can get some ace deals from orange atm (see another thread i'm making in a mo )..

I have used dialAPhone before as well and had no problem with them ( got a 3 any time 600 contract for £2.99 a month via cash back ). I don't think the contract that you are after is a good deal . if you shop around there are lots of good deal around with the money saved you can get the xbox any way .

    p.s What is wrong with O2 ?

Generally poor network coverage (in comparison to Voda and Orange), expensive/poor customer service (in my personal experience)...you tend to get what you pay for.

The coverage depends entirely on where you live though For me personally - living in the suburbs of manchester and also in Stafford, Orange and Vodafone have always given me a great signal, whereas my friend who was on an 02 contract last year (because of a great contract at the time) constantly had problems.
