I'm looking at getting one of the Flext contracts, but heard some rumours that their signal coverage was really bad?
Anyone able to shed any light on this for me?

Yeah, it looks ok for Cornwall and Norwich, where I live and where I'll be at uni later in the year.
The flext contracts look like much better deals than some of the other ones around.
the flext contracts look awesome - although have you checked out the new orange contracts - theres some tasty lookin deals on there

I've just signed up for Flex-T 25 with Web'n'Walk. Web'n'Walk is free for the first 3 months but I would have gone for it anyway. It's a shame their range of phones is so lacking though. I had to get K800i, sell it on eBay and then buy the phone I really wanted SIM free. What a hassle.
I've got a 3G signal pretty much everywhere I've gone in London, but I guess that doesn't help you if you live in Cornwall.![]()
One other question, do you get billed straight away the month you sign up?
I've only ever had pay as you go phones so far...
Yes, you pay for the monthly charge in advance and any calls/texts outside your bundle at the end of the month.
Also, to align you with their billing dates, they usually charge you for a month + how many days there are until the billing date on a pro rota basis.
So if the billing is done on the 17th of every month and I sign up on the 10th July, they'll send me a bill for 1 month + 7 days taking me up until the 17th August.
My contract is renewing in about a months time (with BT - reseller of T-Mobile network). which phone was it you wanted? I was looking at the k800i, but if theres something better?Originally Posted by Aaron

coverage for T-Mobile is fine. Customer service is a bit ****e though.
I quite like the look of one of the vodafone offers as well now, which seems to work out a lot better value for how I would use the phone.
I wanted a Nokia E70. It's not everyone's idea of a good phone but for my needs its perfect - 16mil colour, 352 x 416 pixel screen, 3G, WiFi, 2MP camera, decent battery life, fantastic web-browser and the best keyboard I've ever used on a phone. It got slated by The Register, but I still love it.My contract is renewing in about a months time (with BT - reseller of T-Mobile network). which phone was it you wanted? Since the launch of Flext the increase in customer numbers caught CS by suprise - but things should now have returned to normal....(well - the project I ended up helping out on has finished... so I would assume things are OK!)Originally Posted by piggeh
Is your comments about CS a recent experience, or from a while back?
I'm very happy in London with my MDA Vario on Web & Walk, their Flext tariffs seem to be even better value and I'd sign up for one of them if I was out of my contract.
Only problem with T-mobile is in my family's house in Southampton, I have absolutely no signal whatsoever. And no, it's not the house, I was fine when I was on Orange. Bit odd, you don't tend to be without coverage in cities anymore, but anyway - they seem to have a Southampton blackspot.
Other places I've been to recently (Cambridge, Colchester, train lines inbetween) have been fine with T-mobile.

I manage our mobiles for work, so contact them on a regular basis. Recently we had some users who put in the wrong mailbox number on their phone. Phoned CS and they advised to input the voicemail number as a contact in the address book, and dial up through there. I was told this twice, before a third person eventually suggested sending a network message to set the number correctly! No one should have to phone 3 times to finally get what was a pretty straight forward request. Then I've had to wait a few weeks for some requests on pricing, etc.Originally Posted by Eazieb
I think 222 also re-sets the voicemail settings / sets up the inbox.Originally Posted by piggeh
Didnt realise it was a business account - havent had much to do with that area - so cant comment. If you have anything else on pricing, drop me a PM and I will see what I can do(though I cant touch the account, I should be able to help with advice)
I went for a vodafone contract in the end![]()
