I'm having problems registering my new SPV M600 (the new PDA-style Orange phone). This is how the conversation with Orange CS registrations department went today at 12.30pm. I called Orange CS and asked to speak to a technical person as I believe there's a problem with the SIM card:

Me: I'm having problems registering my SIM card on my new upgrade phone.
Orange CS: What's the make and model of the phone, sir?
Me: It's an Orange SPV M600
    Orange CS: <pause>
Me again: It's an Orange SPV M600
Orange CS: Yes, but who makes it?
    Me: Orange
Orange CS: Orange don't make phones. Is it a Nokia or Motorola?
    Me: No
Orange CS: Who makes the phone?
    Me: Orange
Orange CS: Orange don't make phones, is it a Sony Ericsson?
Me: No, it's an Orange SPV M600
Orange CS: Can you hold the line please...
    Me: Yep!
Orange CS: Can you tell me who makes the phone?
    Me: Orange
Orange CS: Is it a Nokia?
    Me: <click>......brrrrrrrrrrrrrr....

I might end up sending it back as I have 7 days to accept it. If this is the level of knowledge of their technical department then it might be better to switch provider.

Orange ramped up the quality of their CS about a year ago when I got my contract, and I was very impressed by it. They have been total crap lately though, so I'm now with O2.
