the W850 is the new slider phone as opposed to swivel. I've read a review/preview of it that said it was really plasticy. no idea how accurate that is though.
m600i looks the business. I haven't got my hands on it yet though..
the m600i does look worth it, although its going to cost me bucks to get it even on a contract

orange suck!!
I rang their new customer sales number and they said the w850i is available.
AS I`m an orange customer already I then rang the retentions team. THey told me that although the phone is available to new customers existing customer have to wait a few weeks!!!
HEres me thinking that the whole idea of good customer service was to keep ur existing customers happy.
Had a look at these in Phones4u this afternoon
The white W850 looks cheap, too much plastic. The black one is better, not as shiney. There is no joystick to go wrong. The rubber directional pad felt pretty good on the dummy they had on show.
The M600 is very slick. If it had a Duo slot rather than a M2 i would be all over it in a shot. the white plastic isn't too bad, not glossy like an iPod so finger prints won't show up on it so much.
Let me get this straight - neither the M600 or the W950 have Cameras built in??
Another question, anyone know if any of these phones support sorting by Id3 tag info?
My contract also ran out september, so it's time to upgrade... still considering the N73 or W950... confused
Noe neithter the m600 or w950 have cameras. There might be a camera attachment out in the future ala the t68 but no camera as standard.
Not sure about id3 tag sorting.
no idea about the media player in the M600, but the Walkman phone software has ID3 tag sorting. My W800 (re-flashed K750) lists by Artist -> Album, by track (i think it is listed in the order it was created on the card, or by the modified date), and by playlist.
The W950 will probably have more advanced listing functions, i know you can view a list of albums by the embeded artwork and use the touch screen to select it.
Stop being so cynical Rack

have a look at the video or animation links at the bottom
Can't help it, I'm permanently jaded. :-)
Looks very nice... It's almost the perfect phone for me, but why no camera?! Why Sony?!?! WHY?!?!?!?!!!!!
Even a simple 2mp one would do...
my thoughts exactly. hence why i'm waiting for a P990i (just about to post another thread about that one though)
At CeBIT I sat down with the product manager for the M600, there is no camera on that due to the fact that most large companies are actually banning mobile phone cameras in the workplace, so SE have been fairly clever with this on the M600 as it covers the sectors where the 990i would be banned.
As for the W950, I would imagine it might have something to do with pushing as much as possible from the battery to get the maximum music performance, but that is very much a guess, nothing I know can back that up concretely.
Please do not message me about Scan Free shipping, I no longer work for HEXUS.net
good point about the M600, i never thought of that.
I think they are going to be pushing the music and video playing abilities of the W950 as hard as possible, perhaps even going for "the MP3 player that is also a phone" rather than "the phone that also plays MP3s" adding a camera to that might dilute the branding, especially with the Cybershot branding on the K800
