Any Nokia N73 owners here running TomTom?

    How do you find it?

Enquiring for a friend really who wants a phone that can run TomTom and other GPS apps like this one, without the size, battery and stability issues associated with WM5 devices.

Obviously he will need a decent size memory card and Bluetooth GPS receiver, but hopefully he will get the phone free.

He's not a phone/tech fiend like most of us and i reckon the N73 fit the bill nicely for him, but need a second opinion(s). Thanks.

I want to give it a go with my N73, however need a GPS - I've seen them for about £30, so might splash out this week if I can. where were you going to buy the software from?

Not sure yet. Might get a cheap copy of version 5 if we can because there is very little between versions 5 and 6.

I have version 6 running on my N73, it runs beautifully, lovely crisp screen and smooth, I wouldn't however want to use it while driving, over my PDA with big touchscreen and decent sized hard buttons.

a phonescreen is a little to small in my eyes for use when driving - i upgraded from tomtom on my 3250 (which has a screensize almost the same) to a 710 because it wasn't easy to use the information whilst driving. the all-in-one solution has nice additions such as the fm reciever as well

Well money is an issue, so it will probably b the N73. I agree i would not personally like that screen size myself (i have a T-Mobile Vario, not a huge amount bigger though TBH) but it's not that small and it a good quality screen (I have seen stand alone Sat Nav with screens almost as small). I'm hoping it will be ok for him, i think positioning will be very important though. Maybe landscape mode would help(?).

Your best best is to have a look on the Tomtom site, have a look at which version or versions are compatible with your phone.

And its to my understanding that the mobile version of tomtom et al were intended for tourists and the like and not so much motorists.

In any case, I researched this phone to death before I decided i'd get it on contract, it suits my lifestyle perfectly so I bought it.
