    Good software for the K800i

Just got one of these beauties this week, moved 'down' from a smartphone to something that is faster and doesn't crash daily.

But I'm definitely missing some of the flexibility - so has anyone got any software they'd recommend I get?

The things I really miss are an English-Italian dictionary and gameboy emulator (for puzzle bobble/bust a move). Can't seem to find much software through google that isn't strip poker or the like...

    So please help me out!

My GF has Puzzle Bobble on her K800i. She paid for it, but it's freely available all over the net.

But don't expect much, there has never been much decent stuff for non-smart phones, accept the odd game.

If i was you, coming from a smart phone, i would have gone for a N73 if you wanted the same form factor, better stability than Windows mobile/smart phone, reasonable battery life and the ability to run a few half decent third party app's.

I've had enough of smart phones for now - yeah, they do everything, but I wanted something where I didn't have to wait for the standard software to load.

It came down to the N73 or K800i, and I went for the slightly better camera in the end. I have absolutely no regrets, it's a great phone. All the basics are done really well, no need for a better media player or photo album. So it's just the games that I'll have to find somewhere!

Update on the games situation - I got a few to keep me going:

Super Puzzle Bobble - A bit crap really, nowhere near as good as the GB versions.
Lumines - Much more like it, very addictive and a good timewasting puzzle game.
Splinter Cell: Double Agent - Remarkably good, much better than any other platformer I tried.

Still haven't found many good apps though. I got Opera mini, but for some reason it can't connect to the internet...

Opera Mini and Windows Live Mobile are the only apps I use regularly.

I found http://www.getjar.com/software/ quite useful for free / demo apps
I did notice opera (mini) on there but I suppose you can find that on the opera website too. Games I found on there tha work on my W850i - pipes, chess (by cellfun), bombsweeper, solytare. There were some applications but not much that seemed useful or free really.

just make sure you've selected the right kind of phone/screen/etc and that you do run a quick virus check on them (I grabbed a bunch of the games and one file out of the 20 or so was flagged by AVG with something. Might have been harmless like the cd-tray eject "joke" but I deleted it without doing any real further looking.

For the most part (so far), the games are still better on the W550 (and therefore the K800) than they are on the N73, which is pretty irritating.

Had Helistrike on the W550, and it played beautifully. The same game on the N73 sucks big time. Having said that, c2doom on the N73 is a killer application!

There are a huge amount of games available for the K800, with varying levels of quality (obviously).
