Firefox - Problems after update 2.0.0.2

Since the last update a couple of nights ago, a couple of irritating bugs have resurfaced.

Up and Down arrow keys randomly dont work for scrolling web pages, very annoying that, if, you use them on a laptop for general browsing stuff.

The 50-100% cpu thing has returned when scrolling up and down long pages. The weird thing is, when you scroll to the bottom and then back up to the top, the cpu usage is much higher going back up.

I thought these were dead and buried, and they were until the update

I'm spyware and virus free, so any ideas as to a workaround for this?

oh yea, I just noticed that cpu thing. c2d core 1 at 10% running skype, firefox, couple of widgets, everything nicely. Start to scroll quickly and it goes straight up to 35%, and the second core goes from 1% to 11%.

    Bizarre...

You tried clearing the cache and reinstalling, or you just reinstalled? Uninstalling and reinstalling doesn't remove the temporary files.

As for the scroll issues - no idea - even with the speed setting on the MX Revolution scroll, overall CPU usage never goes above 10%, and I've a few programs going. I do know it affects quite a few others though.

Cleared cache - no change, uninstalled, reinstalled - cleared again just in case.

I have the revolution mouse on the other pc, but it is stripped down at the moment so cant check it, but I had these same bugs on v1.xx, right up to the version before 2.0 on both the laptop and big pc.

Thing is, I havent been on any dodgy sites, I havent installed anything recently, and this started immediately after the firefox update, right after setup restarts firefox.

I had noticed some strangeness with Firefox, scrolling and CPU usage.

I didnt actually realise that it was Firefox which was causing it.
