O&O defrag has worked well for me.
Asus Z170 Pro Gaming. i5-6500. 16gig Ripjaw 2400. Samsung 950pro NMVe 250gig+ 1tb Intel 660p. GTX Titan. Corsair TX650M.
939 3800 X2 | 2gig corsairXMS 3200C2
1950XT | 500gig,320,200,160
Plextor DVD burner | Yamaha CRW-F1 CD-drive
Thermaltake Xaser 3 w 480W FSP | X-fi fatal1ty
Things have moved on since I first joined...
They're all good. I keep running trials of the main three (O&O, PerfectDisk and Diskkeeper) and it's hard to choose between them.
O&O was pretty fast most of the time. The complete/ methods are interesting, though there wasn't actually the option that I wanted. Downsides were not particularly great defragmentation of large files.
Diskkeeper was also pretty fast, and had a fairly good disk-reordering tool I think. Also failed to defragment largest files well.
PerfectDisk was the slowest of the lot, especially for FAT32, but the gain was the best defragmentation. The disk re-ordering only has one mode which is suited for fragmentation performance, not drive speed, but it at least sticks the system files at the start of the disk.
I tried a copy of diskeeper i found a nice little product
PerfectDisk for me, as I can easily customise the installer MSI to only start the services when needed.
Seems the best free one is JkDefrag, and it also works with Vista.
An over-rated part of system optimisation in my opinion, but there you go.
whats wrong with the one built into the OS ?
It is Inevitable.....
IObit SmartDefrag it's free and quick

There's a review of the latest Diskeeper here, if you want to read up more on it:

PerfectDisk 8. I tried the latest Diskeeper and O&O recently but PerfectDisk still does the best job.
*nods* It's ok if you run it about 10 times in a row, but it's not very good.
thank you for the explination

I've always been a perfectdisk man but recently i've been very impressed by two other products - Diskeeper (the InvisiTasking thing is rather clever and seems to work) and the other (which you probably won't of heard of) is Disktrix UltimateDefrag (http://www.disktrix.com/ultimatedefr...matedefrag.htm) which is nice both functionally and visually
im using perfectdisk and all i can is that it so cool. it does the job very well indeed thanks for all your suggestions!
diskeeper be good for moi long time
