Does anyone know if yahoo support imap ?

Reason i ask is that i want to be able to store all my email "online" so to speak and if i remember imap allows you to do what i need, correct me if am wrong

I have over ten years worth of email stored locally in outlook ( had the same yahoo email address since i was 16 )

if you have any other sugestions then they would be welcomed

yes IMAP is what you are thinking of.

No idea if they support it though, never used Yahoo! for email.

I doubt there are any easy solutions, especially if you are talking a significant amount of email. 10 years worth sounds a lot, i've got something similar. I used to be a heavy mailing list subscriber so have in the region of 7gig of outlook email (one archived .pst per year). The only practical way for me to have this accessed remotely is to set up my own IMAP or Exchange server and use a web front end to it.

I have w2k3 and Exchange licenses i can use so thats not a problem, i just don't have the time to investigate and learn how to use them

Do you need it all to be accessable?

I have a home linux server, that among other things runs an IMAP mail server. I have about 5 years worth of mail, that takes up 1.7G at present, though I do tend to be quite carefull about large attachements.

If you don't fancy running a linux settup yourslef, there are hosting companies that will store your mail, and let you access it via IMAP from where ever you like, whcich can be quite handy.

It is easy to transfer mail from outlook to an IMAP account. Just configure outlook to use the account, and then drag and drop.

I'll investigate what options my hosting company has
