    media center software

not sure what to do here..
    linux or xp mce?

i was thinking about MythTV, is this actually an OS or is it an application? and also, is it any good?

the only reason im not sure about going for MCE is that i will need to push my budget up by quite a bit considering on how much im spending on the actual PC.

    any advice?

mythtv is a pair of applications - a back-end server (which must run on linux) which schedules and records tv apps, and a front-end app (which might be mythfrontend on linux, mythfrontend on macos, winmyth on windows, mythweb via any web browser, amongst others) to interface with the server. both apps can be installed on the same machine
