dont forget to test updates before you push them into production![]()

Also works for XP x64, installed it last night and it's looking okay.
Cheers for the heads-up, Paul. Well, time to pick a victim - actually, I've got a box being readied for OMA that isn't production yet; let's see what it does to that...
Patched my Windows 2003 R2 workgroup server with the following roles:
- File server
- Virtual Server 2005 R2
- Slimserver (Squeezebox server)
Quick and painless with no disruption to service.
Then patched my virtual machine running on it, which is just a web server, and that too was quick to complete with no side effects.
(I mention this as applying SP1 to virtual Windows Server 2003 guests to a previous version of Virtual PC introduced a performance problem.)

Well, the OMA box hasn't come to any harm, which is a good sign.
Whats the major points to this?
I don't admin any servers, but i might ask our IT support contractors if they are applying this one.
A new way to deploy windows images across the network to client machines and something about xmlite... was too busy to read the bits properly
That one slipped out under the radar. Why no fanfare from MS I wonder?
This has actually been available as part of the Windows Automated Installation Kit , and funnily enough I was at a Technet thing yesterday which covered this. There was no mention of 2003 sp2 though - which you might of thought may have been worth a mention, but no.
