    Vista and Games

Is there some quirk/setting/security issue with Vista that I'm missing?

Company of Heroes won't even BEGIN to install ,although the forums and the game documentation say it runs with Vista.

When I look at at the DVD with Explorer, to kick off Setup manually, Explorer displays no files (as though the disk is empty).

When I look at the disk with my XP machine, I can see all the files.

Medieval Total War 2 starts to install (autoplay works), but before too long the installation crashes.....Vista says I may have a graphics issue....I'm running an X1950XT with the latest Catalyst...(E6600 o/c 3.4)....running Vista Ultimate.

All the games I've tried so far work fine .

Maybe do a Memtest in case it's the ram causing the problem?

Like ajbrun said all the game, I've tried work fine. I've played CoH on vista, so I dont think it's that.

I'm sure it's not vista that's the problem. Have you tried another DVD drive maybe?

    I second that.
Games run fine on Vista 32 and 64 bit.

Check your settings and/or user controls

Well, the drive is a brand new NEC SATA drive.....I installed Vista with it and have used it for other stuff without problem.

Anyone know of any issues with SATA DVD drives and VISTA?

My dvd drive stopped playing DVDs after I installed Vista, I had to do a firmware update which fixed it no prob. But it still read dvds with games on, just film DVDs it wouldn't play (would just load forever)...
