Vista installing on a Raid0 array?

Well Ive just set up my computer with it's hard drives, and trying to install Vista, but it wont get past the loading screen.

Firstly, I have an Asus P5W DH Deluxe motherboard, and to use the Intel ICH7R raid controller, I changed the IDE configuration to Raid from Standard IDE. The Intel raid manager loaded, and I set up the array. That was all fine...

Then I rebooted, put the Vista CD in, pressed F8 to select the CD drive as the first boot device, it starts extractig files, does that, but then it comes up to a Loading Screen with Microsoft Corporation and just hangs, no movement on the bar or what.

Really perplexed. Maybe it's because I have a Pata DVD RW? But then it wouldn't load at all, would it...?

Going to try disconnecting my backup harddrives for now, and just having the one raid array plugged in...
