It is Inevitable.....
it was ticking me off because it wasnt working earlier and im happy now
I do have a question though.
How can i link DHCP to AD?
e.g. the local account im logged on as still has the same ip address etc... as when i used it to login into the domain. Its still leased to this computer.

Yep, so if you log on, the computer gets assigned an IP. If you log off the lease expires.
What setup are you running? Are you taking the internet feed through the server, or is it a separate gateway (read router) on the network?
I'd quite like to setup a Win2k3 based cache/DNS/DHCP server, possibly with exchange capability. Just haven't got the hardware (or software for that matter) to pull it off...
net << router << server (dns, dhcp, ad) << comp, lap etc...

BT is nicely set up now
Next on the list is GPOing *shudders* and playing with some settings on the router, mainly VLANs.
i have ad working on my server and it is as slow as molasses to get logged on to.so it is mainly used as a secure torrent system
Are you putting all the downloaded torrents into the users profile?![]()
